Jaipur is the capital and the largest city in Rajasthan, India. The city was founded in November 1727 by Jai Singh II, the ruler of Amer. As of 2011, the city had a population of 3.1 million.

Jaipur is popularly known as the Pink City of India. It is so because in 1876, the city was painted with terracotta pink colour in grand welcome of the Prince of Wales. Since then the name has not only stuck, but has given the city a unique identity. It is nearly 260 km from New Delhi, the capital of the country.

Jaipur is a popular tourist destination as is known for its sought-after attractions, including Jantar Mantar, Hawa Mahal and Amber Fort.
