Veteran Malayalam actor Meghanathan, known for his roles in over 50 films and television series, passed away at 60 after battling a lung ailment. He was the son of celebrated actor Balan K. Nair. While often portraying antagonists, Meghanathan earned recognition for his performance in the film 'Action Hero Biju.

AIADMK functionary Jayagopal, who was arrested on Friday in Krishnagiri in connection with the death of 23-year-old IT professional Subashree, was remanded in judicial custody till October 11 by the Alandur court on Saturday.
