NHL Trade Rumors: New York Rangers signal sell-off as Calgary Flames consider more deadline moves

The most recent NHL gossip has brought the New York Rangers and Calgary Flames right in the middle of the trade deadline talk. With the uncertainty regarding the team’s direction, salary cap flexibility, and long-term plans all coming to the surface, both teams seem to be going through some very important transitions. Artemi Panarin has been told that he will not be offered a contract extension and will become a UFA on July 1, while Drury is reportedly willing to assist a trade if Panarin lifts his no-movement clause. On the other hand, Mika Zibanejad has assured the team of his loyalty, thus making a deadline deal less likely. Vincent Trocheck, together with Alexis Lafreniere and Braden Schneider, is also getting interest from teams that want to trade.

In the meantime, the trade of Rasmus Andersson by the Flames to Vegas has sparked more rumors in Calgary. Daniel Austin of the Calgary Sun opines that the veterans Nazem Kadri and Blake Coleman might be next as the Flames consider trading established players for future assets.
