MOHALI: A fine score of 158 by Love Kumar Singh helped Jalandhar beat Chandigarh in the Under-19 Dhruv Pandove Trophy at the PCA Stadium, on Monday on the basis of first innings lead.
Chasing Chandigarh's 309, Jalandhar scored 351 for 7 in 95 overs.Their innings was sustained skipper Love Kumar Singh's score that came from 145balls. He hit 17 boundaries and one six. Love Kumar has been in great form. Hehad scored a century against Patiala as well. He was helped by Anmol Luther whocontributed 39 runs while Bhupinder Singh and Jagrit Singh scored 28 each. ForChandigarh team, Aman Bharti took 3 wickets for 85 and Udit Hari Mehta took 2for 23.
In another match between Mohali and Bathinda, the Tricityteam managed to take a lead of 89 runs in the first inning and got two points.In reply to 268 for 3 by Mohali, Bathinda's innings was wrapped up at 179.
On the second day of the match between Mohali and Bathinda, afterthe overnight 48 for 2 in 21 overs, Mohali went on to score 268 for 3 in 95overs and took the vital 89 first innings lead. Amritsar outplayed Patiala in their match to clinch twopoints. Playing first, Amritsar team had scored, 427 runs in first innings whilechasing Patiala could manage only 195 at the loss of all wickets. The match wasplayed at Gandhi grounds Amritsar.
