Season 2 marks the first-ever seasonal wipe in Marathon’s history, meaning all gameplay progression resets. This includes your hoarded gear, hard-earned faction ranks, and contract progress. You will only keep your cosmetics, achievements, and non-seasonal Codex progression.

What is new in Marathon Season 2?

There are several new things that Bungie is introducing as part of the Marathon Season 2. One of the highlights is Night Marsh, which is a nighttime version of Dire Marsh. Season 2 also brings a brand-new Runner Shell to the game alongside new mods and the new Cradle progression system.
Other than all this, the update brings in two new weapons to the game, KKV-9SD and D54 Battle Pistol. This gives you more options to use.
Marathon Season 2 free play week
Bungie is running an Open Play Week from June 2 to June 9, making the full game free on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, the progress will carry over if you end up purchasing the game.
