Punjab started nicely but once Bangalore found their foot, they were toying with the field. The bowlers started nicely but as the game went through, they started to fade away. Too many looseners and freebies were hit to cleaners. Sharukh Khan dropped Faf du Plessis on 7 and that proved very costly. Only Rahul Chahar ended with the economy under 6 and that tells you the story. The pitch looks like it loves batters and Punjab have a few big guns as well. It was Rawat who gave a good start while Faf du Plessis was struggling but once the former got out. Kohli and Faf started to find the gaps and rotate the scores quite quickly. Faf du Plessis struggled earlier but once he found his groove, the bowlers started to struggle and it was raining sixes and fours. Kohli was playing the second fiddle and enjoying the show. After doing the damage, Karthik came in and played a superb cameo to post a score above 200.

First game for Bangalore and they start with a bang. 200 plus scores to start the campaign and they will be very happy going into the break. A slow start but a demolishing finish, started from Faf du Plessis and ended with Dinesh Karthik.
