India vs South Africa 2nd Test Score Updates, Day 1 Highlights: South Africa 35/1 at stumps, trail India by 167 runs

After bowling India out for 202, hosts South Africa ended the opening day's play at 35 for one in the second Test at the Wanderers stadium in Johannesburg on Monday. Mohammed Shami helped India took the wicket of opener Aiden Markram early in the fourth over, but Protea skipper Dean Elgar (11*) and Keegan Petersen (14*) made sure that they do not lose any more wickets. I love this ground, love to play here as I get very good vibes. We won the first Test, but it's about starting from scratch. It's all about starting fresh and giving our best today. We like to stay in the present. We have two matches to go, so we need to be positive and give our best. Our performance as a team was good in the last Test, but we need to adjust to these conditions and play accordingly. I am feeling good mentally as I batted well in the last match, but was disappointed with the way I got out in both the innings.

He has been a big player for us. Losing any big player is never ideal. But we need to move on. We have a lot of talent in our squad and we need to back them. There were a lot of good things you can speak about at Centurion. You need to be fair to the environment. a lot of positives and good conversations for us to take out of that.

Unfortunately Virat has had an upper back spasm and hopefully he'll recover for the next Test. It is every Indian player's dream to captain his country. Really honoured and looking forward to this challenge. We have had a few good wins here and hopefully we'll look to continue that. Hanuma Vihari comes in place of VIrat. Just the one change. It was a good Test at Centurion overall. We really performed well as a team and are really excited about this match.
