Ind vs Ban 1st Test highlights: Bangladesh 42/0 at stumps on Day 3, need 471 runs to win vs India in Chattogram

Set a stiff 513-run target to win, Bangladesh reached 42 for no loss at stumps on the third day of the opening Test against India. India dismissed Bangladesh for 150 in their first innings with left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav taking a career-best 5 for 40. Skipper KL Rahul, however, didn't enforce the follow-on. India then declared their second innings for 258 for 2 after Shubman Gill (110 off 152 balls) and Cheteshwar Pujara (102 not out off 130 balls) hit centuries. Kuldeep Yadav takes five; Bangladesh all out for 150; KL, Gill take India to 36/0

Skipper KL Rahul and young Shubman Gill were cautious in their approach as India reached 36 for no loss in their second innings at lunch after Kuldeep Yadav's third five-wicket haul helped them dismiss Bangladesh for a paltry 150 on the third day of the opening Test. Rahul (20 batting) and Gill (15 batting) didn't take any undue risks as India's overall lead swelled to 290 after the Indian captain decided against enforcing the follow-on on the hosts. Playing his first Test match in 22 months, Kuldeep registered career-best figures of five for 40 as Bangladesh could survive only 55.5 overs in their first innings. Pacer Mohammed Siraj (3/20 in 13 overs) deserved equal credit for his incisive spells on second afternoon and evening.

DAY 3, LUNCH REPORT:

India were 36 for no loss in the second innings at lunch after bowling Bangladesh out for a meagre 150 on the third day in the opening Test. Skipper KL Rahul was batting on 20 while Shubman Gill was unbeaten on 15 India enjoy a 290-run overall lead over the hosts not having enforced follow-on. The visitors had earlier bowled out Bangladesh in 55.5 overs with Kuldeep Yadav (5/40) grabbing his third five-wicket haul.
