Taskin Ahmed to Aqib Ilyas, On middle and leg, sharp one, Ilyas tries to flick but misses. It goes off his pads towards backward square leg. They take a leg bye. A good start to the chase for Oman, 12 from it!
The chase is set to begin. The Bangladesh players are seen to be in a huddle. They are getting some parting words from Shakib Al Hasan. They are followed by the opening pair of Jatinder Singh and Aqib Ilyas, who walk out to bat for Oman. Taskin Ahmed to start with the ball.
Fayyaz Butt (4-0-30-3) is up for a chat. The pacer says that it is a very big thing for him and his team also to make a debut in this tournament. Regarding his first wicket, Butt replies that he bowled three good-length deliveries, all slower ones and then bowled with extra pace to dismiss the batsman. Tells that he admires Imran Khan and Brett Lee a lot, and they are legends. Shares that he played Under-19 World Cup for Pakistan and at that time, his action was different.
Right then. 154 is what Oman need to win and confirm their place in the Super 12 and with the backing of the home crowd, they will be pumped and excited to come out and chase this down. Bangladesh need a win to stay alive and they have the bowling attack required to defend this total. Will they be able to do so though? We shall find out. Stay tuned for Oman's reply.
A good bowling display from the hosts, but they know that they could have done slightly better, especially out on the field, as they dropped a bucketload of catches, which they would hope does not come back to haunt them. The start by them was top-notch, but they found it hard to break the stand between Naim and Shakib. Once that stand was dismantled, they bounced back well towards the end. Bilal Khan had a fruitful evening as both his spells, at the start and the end, were fearsome and he ended with figures of 4-0-18-3. Fayyaz Butt led the charge as he ended with 3 to his name and Kaleemullah reaped rewards too with his 2 scalps.
This batting display of Bangladesh was only about 2 batters and nobody else. Yes, Mahmudullah did well towards the end by getting a few handy runs, but if not for the knocks by Mohammad Naim and Shakib Al Hasan, the Bangla Tigers would have been staring down the barrel. They started off poorly as they could only conjure 29 runs, losing 2 wickets, in the Powerplay. Then, came the stand of substance between Naim and Shakib of 80 runs, which helped the Tigers get the push. Lady luck smiled on them as Oman dropped a few catches too. Once this stand was broken, Bangladesh fell from 101/2 to 122/6. After that, the Bangla skipper hit a couple of boundaries but they never found the final burst.
... The Run Chase ...
Bilal Khan to Mustafizur Rahman, OUT! Bangladesh are all out on the final ball! Bilal Khan delivers it full and on middle, Mustafizur Rahman hops back to make room for a big shot but only manages to tower it high in the air towards mid off. Zeeshan Maqsood gets underneath it, keeps his eyes on the ball and takes the skier safely. Bangladesh have got 153 on the board.

Bilal Khan to Mahmudullah, OUT! STUMPS SHATTERED! Bilal Khan switches to 'round the wicket and spears in a very full ball around off at 129 kph, Mahmudullah stays back to swing his bat at it but fails to connect. The ball goes behind to peg the off stump back. Bilal has two in the match, can Oman get Bangladesh all out?
Bilal Khan to Taskin Ahmed, Well stopped at extra cover by Zeeshan Maqsood! Fuller and around off, Taskin drives it through the line but fails to get it past the Oman skipper. They cross for a run and Mahmudullah is back on strike.
Bilal Khan to Taskin Ahmed, Four leg byes! Wrong line from Bilal Khan, fuller and around middle, angling down the leg side, Taskin tries to flick but misses. It clips his pads and speeds away to the fine leg fence. 150 up!
Oman will definitely be the happier of the two sides at the halfway stage of this game, but, had they stopped Bangladesh to a total of around 20 runs lesser, then the game would be in their grasp. Their counterparts though, with the exception of a couple of batters, never got going and have ended on a decent total of 153.
Mustafizur Rahman is the last man in!
Bilal Khan (3-0-15-1) to bowl the final over of the innings!
Fayyaz Butt to Mahmudullah, FOUR! That fumble from the keeper has cost his team a boundary in the end. Short and outside off, Mahmudullah camps back and steers it through the gap between short third man and backward point. 6 balls left, how many more can Bangladesh add to their total?

Fayyaz Butt to Mahmudullah, On a length around middle and leg, Mahmudullah clips it behind square leg and the ball races away. The fielder in the deep does well to pull it back before the fence and after consulting the third umpire, the onfield umpire is happy with the fielding effort. Two runs added to the total.
