Radhakishan Damani – Malabar Hill Estate

Radhakishan Damani, founder of Avenue Supermarts (DMart), is a billionaire investor who also owns one of South Mumbai’s most expensive bungalows. As per reports, the house was purchased for about ₹1,001 crore (approx) in 2021, making it a historic deal. Damani’s acquisition shows a trend of wealthy investors buying heritage land amidst extreme scarcity.

Sajjan Jindal – Maheshwari House, Napean Sea Road

Sajjan Jindal is the steel magnate of India. The chairman and managing director of the JSW Group is also a homeowner here. He is the owner of the famous Maheshwari House on Napean Sea Road. This sea-facing bungalow is counted as South Mumbai’s most prized houses. As per reports, the property was acquired for ₹400–₹500 crore. The bungalow is all about Arabian Sea views and big gardens, among others.

Cyrus Poonawalla – Lincoln House, Bhulabhai Desai Road

Set on Bhulabhai Desai Road is the house of Cyrus Poonawalla which is called, “Lincoln House”. The heritage property is owned by billionaire Cyrus Poonawalla, chairman of the Poonawalla Group and Serum Institute. Though ownership transfer through legal is facing delays, the deal was reported at ₹750 crore (US$113 million) in 2015.

Yohan & Michelle Poonawalla – Cuffe Parade Mansion

Another deal that made the headlines in 2024 was billionaire couple Yohan and Michelle Poonawalla’s purchase of a sprawling mansion in Cuffe Parade. It is among one of South Mumbai’s most coveted seaside regions. The deal—valued at over ₹500 crore is known as among the largest residential transactions in recent years. Listed at roughly 30,000 square feet, the mansion is set to be transformed into a luxurious home.
