Parvati Valley, Himachal Pradesh


Parvati Valley, stretching along the Parvati River, is a stunning wonder in the Kullu district of Himachal. The place is a paradise for backpackers and nature lovers. The valley is all about pine-covered hills, hot springs, and hippie culture.

Kasol, also known as the “mini-Israel,” is noted for its modern cafes and a hippie vibe. The famous Kheerganga trek also begins from here.

Ziro Valley, Arunachal Pradesh


Ziro Valley in Arunachal is a hidden gem in the northeast, which also happens to be a UNESCO World Heritage site candidate. The valley is renowned for its lush rice fields, and the unique culture of the Apatani tribe. It’s a place brimming with exceptional natural beauty and tribal traditions.

The Ziro Music Festival (September) attracts artists, photographers and visitors.

Yumthang Valley, Sikkim

Also famous as the “Valley of Flowers” of the East, Yumthang Valley in North Sikkim is a natural wonderland. The valley is set at an elevation of around 11,800 ft and draws hundreds of tourists during the spring and summer months. It is because during this time, the valley gets covered with colourful primulas and poppies, among others.
Not only this, the valley is home to several hot springs and cute-looking yaks. There is also the Shingba Rhododendron Sanctuary which you can visit and witness the wildlife of the northeast.

Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh

Our next pick is Spiti Valley which is a perfect place for offbeat explorers who enjoy peace and remoteness over crowds and touristy places. Set in Himachal Pradesh, the valley is a raw desert beauty which is hard to find elsewhere. The valley is all about ancient monasteries, and mountain passes.
When here, visit the old Key Monastery, stunning Chandratal Lake, and beautiful villages of Kaza and Tabo, among others. The best time to explore Spiti is during the summer season (May to October).

Valley of Flowers, Uttarakhand


The Valley of Flowers, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is situated in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The site is noted for its scenic meadows known for alpine flowers including the Brahma Kamal, the state flower of Uttarakhand. Set at an altitude of 12,000 ft, the valley comes alive between July and September when more than 600 species of flowers bloom like a rainbow.
It’s a tedious trek that promises to bless you with heavenly views! The trek to the valley starts at Govindghat and takes you through scenic waterfalls, pretty rivers, and dense forests.
