Mysore Palace, Karnataka

This historical palace is located in the city of Mysuru in Karnataka. It is an Indo‑Saracenic masterpiece featuring intricate carvings, stained‑glass windows, and elegantly designed domes. This palace was designed by Henry Irwin, an English architect who mixed elements from Islamic, Rajput, and Gothic styles to create this palace. The palace is famous for its annual Dussehra celebration, when it is illuminated with thousands of lights, creating a breath-taking view.

Falaknuma Palace, Hyderabad, Telangana

This palace is also known as “Mirror to the Sky” as it stands at 2,000 feet. Situated on the banks of the Musi River in Hyderabad, the palace has marble staircases, lush gardens, and Venetian chandeliers with a majestic aura. It also has one of the largest dining tables in the world. Now a luxurious hotel, this palace was once the site of the wedding of Salman Khan’s sister Arpita Khan and actor Aayush Sharma.

City Palace, Udaipur, Rajasthan

The palace is located on the banks of Lake Pichola and offers stunning views of the surrounding lakes and hills. This palace is a perfect blend of Rajasthani and Mughal architectural styles. It has beautiful gardens and museums which make it a major tourist attraction. This palace gives a perfect glimpse into royal heritage and culture.

Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur, Rajasthan

One of the most beautiful palaces in India has now been turned partially into a luxurious hotel. This palace is divided into three parts – a royal residence, a hotel, and a museum that showcases artefacts depicting the rich royal heritage. It was built by Maharaja Umaid Singh to provide employment to thousands during a period of famine and was built from 1928 to 1943.

Laxmi Vilas Palace, Vadodara, Gujarat

The palace was built by Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III in 1890, who ruled the Baroda State. This 19th‑century marvel, built in Indo‑Saracenic style, is considered to be four times the size of Buckingham Palace. Its interiors are very beautiful, with chandeliers and artworks, and one can also see the impressive collection of weaponry and art of the royals.

Hawa Mahal, Jaipur, Rajasthan

This palace is built from red and pink sandstone and is also known as the “Palace of Winds.” It was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh and is known worldwide for its honeycomb design and for the 953 small windows from which royal ladies watched street festivals. Hawa Mahal is very airy and cool inside and blends Rajput and Mughal architectural styles.

Monsoon Palace (Sajjan Garh), Udaipur, Rajasthan

This palace is located on the top of a hill in Udaipur and was built by Maharana Sajjan Singh in the 19th century. It is considered to have been intended as an astronomical centre but became a monsoon palace and a hunting lodge. Its location gives breathtaking views of the city and the surrounding areas and also the Udaipur skyline.

Rambagh Palace, Jaipur, Rajasthan

Earlier, this palace was a residence of the Maharaja of Jaipur and was constructed in 1835. This palace was originally built as a garden retreat for the queen’s handmaiden but afterwards became the residence of Jaipur’s ruler, Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II, in the 20th century. This was the first palace to be turned into a luxury ‘palace hotel’ by the Maharaja and is mostly called the “Jewel of Jaipur.”

Lake Palace, Udaipur, Rajasthan

This palace is often known as the “Jewel of Udaipur” and is considered to be a timeless beauty. Commissioned by Maharana Jagat Singh II of the Mewar dynasty as a summer retreat, it is located on an island in Lake Pichola. This palace is made in white marble and exemplifies authentic Rajasthani architectural style, making it a masterpiece.

Jal Mahal, Jaipur, Rajasthan

This palace floats on Man Sagar Lake and is a majestic palace built in red sandstone creating a surreal effect when it is reflected on the surface of the water. This palace isn’t actually floating; the lower floors are submerged under the water. This beautiful palace was made in 1699 and was renovated in the 18th century by Maharaja Jai Singh II.
