Christmas in South India is a magical affair. You may not find snow, but you will find illuminated churches, midnight masses reverberating on palm-lined streets and bakeries scented with spice-laden plum cakes. The festival here mixes faith with local culture, influenced by centuries-old Christian communities and coastal histories. South India provides unique ways to enjoy the season.

One of the most atmospheric places to experience Christmas in South India, is dramatic Fort Kochi.
