5 warm Indian destinations above 25°C right now to escape the winter chill

Winter in North India has its own charm, but when foggy mornings, layered clothing, seems a bit too much, we kind of know that it’s time for that quick break. This week, Delhi/NCR has been facing a gripping cold, with temperatures dipping sharply and cold waves linger longer than expected. Although the weather men are saying that the weather is expected to get better soon, it’s also one of the reasons to plan that quick trip just to see how warm weather feels like in winters. For many, winter also becomes the ideal excuse to head south, where the sun shines generously and the mercury doesn’t fall below comfortable levels.
So, here are five destinations where winter feels more like an extended summer.

2/6

Mumbai (26°C)

Mumbai in winter is at its absolute best. With an average temperature hovering around 26°C, the city breathes easy during this time. Days are warm, not exhausting, and evenings are perfect for seaside walks along Marine Drive or Juhu Beach. And since there is no oppressive heat, this is also the best time to explore neighbourhoods, street food hubs, and heritage precincts. Explore the lively outdoors, cafés, and late-night strolls without sweat bothering you.

3/6

Goa (26°C)

Goa is also a winter favourite. With temperatures staying around 26°C, the coastal state becomes one of the most comfortable places to be during this time. The beaches remain inviting as usual, they feel alive, and the weather allows one to spend long days outdoors without discomfort. Whether it’s sunbathing, exploring Portuguese-era streets, or exploring the flea markets, winter in Goa strikes a balance between warmth and ease that appeals to both relaxed travellers and party-seekers.

4/6

Puducherry (27°C)

Puducherry is another place that offers a slightly warmer escape at around 27°C. Winter here feels gentle, with warm afternoons and breezy evenings along the promenade. The city’s French-inspired architecture, quiet cafés, as well as the spiritual retreats are best enjoyed during this time.Unlike peak summer, winter lets visitors explore Puducherry comfortably without rushing indoors to escape the heat.

5/6

Gokarna (26°C)

For those who prefer quieter shores, Gokarna is another refreshing alternative to busier beach destinations. With winter temperatures close to 26°C, the town retains its laid-back charm while offering ideal conditions for beach walks and relaxed exploration. The warmth makes early mornings and late afternoons especially pleasant, whether spent at Om Beach, Kudle Beach, or along cliffside trails. Winter keeps Gokarna sunlit and calm, without the crowds and intensity of peak summer heat.

6/6

Kerala (26°C)

Kerala’s winter climate sits comfortably around 26°C, creating ideal conditions across its diverse landscapes. There are the backwaters of Alappuzha, beaches of Varkala and Kovalam, along with others that feel welcoming and balanced during this season. The warmth allows travellers to explore waterways, coastal towns, and cultural centres without the exhaustion that summer often brings. Winter is also the time when Kerala’s natural colours seem to turn even more brighter, making outdoor experiences more inviting and immersive.
