While the royalty has innumerable riches and powerful privileges, they are dutifully bound by many rules and restrictions. One of which disallows them from displaying any form of affection in public. However, that hasn’t stopped many of them from making sweet and romantic gestures for their partners every once in a while. From the Queen of England to the Late Prince of Denmark, many members of the royal family have gone extraordinary lengths to please their partners.

Prince Philip quits smoking for the Queen

On the day of his wedding with the Queen of England, Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, quit smoking. Knowing that his soon-to-be wife, Queen Elizabeth despised her father’s smoking habit and had a dislike for it, Philip gave up smoking as a gesture of sincerity towards the Queen.

Prince Henrik of Denmark’s last romantic surprise for his loving wife

Before taking his last breath on 20th February, 2018, the late Prince Henrik of Denmark, planned a romantic surprise for his wife, Queen Margrethe II. The late Prince’s dying wish demanded that the flowers and wreaths at his funeral be turned into a “blooming garden” for his wife. The announcement of the awe-inspiring surprise was made on Instagram.

Prince Charles’ gift to his wife Camilla on 60th birthday

On her 60th birthday, Prince Charles gave his wife, the Duchess of Cornwall, Camilla, a wonderful surprise by conducting a special performance by London's Philharmonia Orchestra. The king was reluctant but Philharmonia's lead violinist and conductor Christopher Warren Green persuaded the Prince to conduct the performance on his own which turned out to be beautiful and memorable too.

Japanese Princess Mako gives up her royal title to marry a commoner

Joining the league is Princess Mako of Japan, the eldest granddaughter of Emperor Akihito, who gave up all her royal titles, in order to marry the love of her life, Kei Komuro. Although, much has changed since the announcement in 2017, the Princess did make a bold move for her love.

King Phillippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium toured the Museum of Fine Arts in Ghent “Hand-in-Hand”

Earlier this year, King Phillippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium were spotted at the preview of the Van Eyck exhibition. The royal couple were seen walking ‘hand-in-hand’, touring the Museum of Fine Arts in Ghent, which is not very common amongst the senior royals.

Prince William proposed to Kate Middleton with his mother’s engagement ring

When it comes to romantic royal gestures, we cannot overlook how Prince William proposed to the love of his life, Kate Middleton, with the same ring his mother picked out for her marriage. Although, Princess Diana couldn’t witness her son’s wedding, she surely will live on through the memories she has left with them.

Prince Harry fixing Meghan Markle’s hair caught the attention of the royal fans

While public display of affection is not very common amongst the royalties, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have learnt to express their love through other gestures. Recently, Prince Harry was seen fixing Meghan’s hair at an official gathering, making sure she looked her best. This caught the attention of their fans, as Harry was caught repeating the same thing for 4 consecutive times.

At the celebration of King Harald and Queen Sonja of Norway's 80th birthdays in 2017, Prince Guillaume of Luxembourg holds an umbrella for his wife, Princess Stephanie. To many of us, it may seem commonly beautiful, but for a person of royal status, someone who has several people running errands for him, it is highly unusual yet romantic.
