Memorable moments from Princess Diana's life

Princess Diana or the People's Princess was one of the most iconic and charismatic public figures in the world. She was not only an awe-inspiring personality who stepped over and beyond her royal duties and obligations, but also saw the need to uplift people from the deprived communities. Known to have filled the longstanding gap between the royal household and the common people, Princess Diana was someone with whom people could connect and relate to.

While nothing can compare to the legacy that she's left behind, there have been many attempts to restore and recreate her majestic life in the reel world. That being said, here are 6 exemplary real-life moments of Princess Diana that have been recreated in the reel life.

The royal engagement between Lady Diana and Prince Charles

Theirs was a meeting that was spontaneous and unplanned. When Princess Diana first met the Prince of Wales, he was dating her elder sister, Sarah Spencer. But the chance meeting between the two lead to their royal engagement, where Princess Diana hand-picks her own wedding ring. As depicted in a recent screen adaptation, when an interviewer says to the pair that they looked 'very much in love', Prince Charles did actually say, "Whatever in love means."

Princess Diana's wedding

From the much-awaited wedding ceremony to the iconic wedding gown of Princess Diana, each and every aspect of the wedding broke headlines and made for a historic moment up until today. The royal couple were married at the St. Paul's Cathedral in London on July 29, 1981. Princess Diana's wedding dress was designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel and consisted of a train that was 25 feet long, also adapted beautifully on screen.

Her role as a mother

Besides being a generous being, Princess Diana was also a wonderful mother to her two boys, Prince William and Harry. Her incessant need to be near her children and to give them all the love and affection, even amidst all the chaos that buzzed around her royal identity, was not just inspiring but is what got to the majority of the public.

Her relationship with the paparazzi

From the time she was associated with the British royal family, she became the face of the royal household. Everywhere she went, everything she did, became the talk of the town. Her relationship with the paparazzi was that which could not be overlooked and while she may have enjoyed the attention initially, it is what may have changed the course of her life.

Lady Diana's fashion moments

Some of the greatest moments in Princess Diana's life are linked to her fashion sense and the statements she made through her fashion choices. From her red polka dot gown to the Royal Opera House in 1982 to the white gown she wore on her solo trip to New York, everything was beautifully depicted in a recent over the top series.

When she became the People's Princess

As Princess Diana stepped into the realm of royalty, she was unaware of the world that was going to change the course of her life. Taking her time in adjusting to the new household, she slowly and steadily realised the change she could bring into the world and also understood the impact she could have on the people. During her visit to the Harlem hospital in America, she bents down and hugs a child with AIDS. This caused a stir amongst the public and is what defines her life as the People's Princess.
