Cleanse, calm, heal and relax: 4 holistic rituals for a full-body and mind reset

In the era of sudden burnouts and panic attacks, the concept of cleansing one's energy aura sounds very interesting! Based on ancient insights, these rituals present a classic solution to the contemporary emotional burden. Generation to generation, we Indians have a tradition of using smoke, oils, and sound to practice these healing rituals, as if Ayurveda knew in advance that they were protecting something invisible but vital, and for the coming years, all of which will be helpful. They are not rituals; they are based on Ayurvedic wisdom to safeguard the unseen energy field, more commonly known as our "aura". While Western researchers are only now exploring the intricacies of Ayurveda and the concept of subtle energy fields, Ayurveda has long taught that our well-being is not only determined by what we consume but also by the energy we emit. So, get ready to dive in!

Gandusha (Oil pulling)

Gandusha kriya, commonly referred to as oil pulling, is an activity that has been practiced in India for centuries. As described in many ayurvedic texts, it has been advised to practice if one's goal is good oral health. Various ayurvedic practitioners, including Sushruta and Vagbhata, have vouched for its magical properties. The antibacterial property of the Gandusha oil kills bacteria in the mouth. It is similar to a mouthwash, but minus the chemicals, with this natural plant oil, which is harmless. Besides killing bad bacteria, it also makes the gums strong and helps in pulling out plaque. But do it early in the morning before having food or a drink. Sesame, mustard or sunflower oil can be utilized for the same. Simply take two tablespoons of oil, swish it in the teeth and gums, do it for 5 minutes, and spit it out after completion. Do not ingest the oil

Sneha abhyanga

Abhyanga, self-massage in warm, medicinal oil, is an Ayurvedic ritual deeply personal and nourishing, based on the philosophy of Sneha—the love of oneself. Practiced for centuries, this treatment induces balance, longevity and mental peace by giving a boost to the nervous system and eliminating toxic substances. Abhyanga also brings down stress, aiding in soothing Vata or Kapha imbalance and boosting immunity, providing a holistic approach to rejuvenating the inner and outer energy of the body.

Dhoop therapy for aura cleansing

Use of Dhoop has been traced to ancient days, when sages and healers utilized it to cleanse the air for rituals, healing processes, and everyday worship. They were sacred and must-have instruments in the everyday lives of spiritual practitioners. Dhoop is scientifically recognized to have antibacterial properties. Burning dhoop cones emits aromatic smoke that decontaminates the air of bacteria, fungi and other airborne toxins. Besides this, it is also famous for "Dosha balancing"; some of the herbs in the dhoop can balance the three doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. In today's busy life, such ancient techniques lead us back to our roots and again establish the harmony of mind, body, and space. Just a few minutes a day with a natural Dhoop Cone can begin your peaceful journey to peace, purification, and positivity.

5/5

Karana Purana

Karana Purana, the Ayurvedic process of pouring medicated, warm oil into the ears, which in turn caters to both neurological and mental well-being. It is said to soothe the ear nerves and the Vata dosha and enhance the transmission of sound signals to the brain. Practice regularly to relieve earaches, infections, tinnitus, and even vertigo, and at the same time lessen stress, anxiety, and insomnia. It is particularly useful for those subjected to the dry climate, noisy surroundings, or who travel by air often.
