I made these changes in my work routine and I have never felt happier & stress free

These are the changes I made

In our crazy world, stress has become an all-too-common companion in our work routines. The demands of our jobs, coupled with the pressures of daily life, can take a toll on our well-being. My marriage was suffering, my mental peace had flown out of the window, and I was leading a life on the edge. One fine day, I decided to make these 5 changes in my work routine and I have never felt so happy and stress-free before. Try it out because it sure did balance so many of my personal issues.

2/6

I started waking up early

Effective time management is very important and when I tried that, I realised its importance. I began by creating a daily or weekly schedule that outlines your tasks, deadlines, and goals. I started waking up at 6:30 a.m. when my dog wakes me up. Sitting to work at 7 am with a fresh mind, saved me hours of slogging during the evening. I would get the key things sorted between 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., which saved me from a lot of deadline stress and time.

3/6

Embrace mindfulness and stress-reduction techniques

Incorporate mindfulness practices into your daily work routine to manage stress effectively. I began with 10 minutes of deep breathing exercises, and in the evenings, I made sure I went for a short walk during breaks and that made me feel better. This routine helped me regain focus and reduce tension. Mindfulness techniques promote self-awareness and emotional regulation, making it easier to stay calm in stressful situations.

4/6

I drew my boundaries

My friends would keep lecturing me over work-life balance and drawing boundaries so this time I actually did it, and argued for it to make my family understand that I was dead serious about it. It worked! It reduced my stress. When my workday ends, I resist the temptation to check emails or complete tasks that can wait until the next day. I now prioritise my personal time to engage in activities that I enjoy, spend quality time with loved ones, and my puppy, and relax.

5/6

Stopped multi-tasking

People expect us women to multi-task most of the time but that adds nothing but complete stress to our lives. I stopped doing that completely and I am loving that mental; peace! I stopped doing housework while sipping on my coffee. I played with my dog when I could concentrate on playing with her and did nothing else. When I sat down to work, I did nothing else. One thing at a time was my winner!

6/6

I understood the meaning of NO

I began saying NO to the tasks that were adding to my work pressure. I stopped taking on responsibilities that were spreading me thin and believe me, it is the best practice. People start taking you for a ride just because you are a diligent worker. Just do what you can do and say NO to the rest.
