The busiest online dating day...

2018 is almost here, and it already has some good news in store for those who are looking forward to upgrade their relation status from ‘single’ to ‘committed’. According to a study conducted by an online dating platform PlentyOfFish, January 7, 2018, will be the busiest online dating day of the year.

Interestingly, they have also figured out the exact time when most people will be online looking for a suitable match. As per the online dating experts, 9:00 PM might just prove lucky for you as they are expecting that the sign up rate will increase by 14 per cent that day.

Now that you have the time and the day, all you need to figure out is how to go ahead. While starting a conversation may not be a big problem, but to keep the momentum going can be the biggest hurdle. So, here’s what you need to do to get noticed:

2/6

Keep your online dating profile ready and updated

Although we should not judge a book by its cover, but the same does not hold true in the online dating world. Your profile, including photographs and bio, matters a lot. Don’t try to act too funny or serious when you describe yourself or put up pictures, which might not be appropriate for all.

3/6

Keep your options open

Remember, a lot of people will be online that day. So, the best way to find the perfect match is by not stopping at one. The more you chat with people, the more you will get to know them. First, start the conversation with one person and if you think it’s not working, be honest and move on.

4/6

Once you find a good match, keep the conversation flowing

After finding a good match, try to keep the conversation going. Tell him or her what’s going on in your life and encourage them to share the same. Although it might sound very weird, weather is a good conversation starter. And the way Delhi weather is behaving (add pollution to that), you can keep going for hours!

5/6

Things to avoid

Don’t try to get too serious. You are making a big mistake if you plan to tell your online date everything, including your past love life, likes and dislikes, on the first day itself. Flaunting your designer clothes or talking about your numerous trips abroad doesn’t help either. Keep it sweet and simple.

6/6

Don’t get your hopes high

Remember, finding a perfect partner may take years. And the search would get tougher if you rely only on the online world. It's okay if you do not find the right person on Januray 7. The year has just started and there’s lot more to come!
