Types of love you will probably experience in this life

A majority of us get to experience love at least once in our lifetime. It makes us feel beautiful, vulnerable, excited, nervous - all at the same time. However, have you ever thought about love being of different kinds? Yes, it is possible! For those of us who have fallen in love more than once with different people, the experiences may have been different. If you are curious to know more about this, here are the types of love you will probably experience in this life.

2/8

Erotic love

This kind of love is all about desire and sexuality. It's extremely passionate and can be experienced when you are attracted to another person. Also, you don't need to be in a romantic relationship to feel erotic love for another person. Basically, it is lust and is a totally natural chemical response in the body.

3/8

Manipulative love

You are bound to suffer in this kind of love. In this, either one or both the parties is constantly looking to take advantage of the other one. They gaslight their partner by being manipulative, making them feel poorly about themselves, and controlling what they do and don't do. This often leaves both the people feeling more lonely than they were alone.

4/8

Obsessive love

In this, one person is trying to fill an ever-empty void in their life and heart by being in the relationship. These are the types that often get into codependent relationships because they feel as if they need their partner and they wouldn’t be whole without them.

5/8

Selfless love

This love occurs when you are giving your all to someone without any expectations or something in return. It can be when you are volunteering for a noble cause or when you are in a relationship with someone you deeply care about. It's a spiritual kind of love.

6/8

Platonic love

Platonic love can mean different things to different people, but its essence is companionship. This is a special kind of love and generally involves your friends. They get to see all your imperfections and still choose to stick around anyway.

7/8

Self-love

It could be described as the adoration and gentleness that you have for yourself. It's about your confidence and self-esteem. It is essential to living a happy and fulfilling life. More importantly, you need to love yourself before loving someone else.

8/8

Family love

The feelings you have for family are different from the feelings you have for a lover or a friend. They run deep and are often unconditional. It isn’t dependent on how a person is behaving or who they are, family just kind of loves you just as you are.
