Did you feel the same?

When we decide to get married, we have the prettiest of pictures in our head where we live happily ever after. However, there are many cases where there has been an immediate regret right after saying ‘I do’ or when they are about to say the divine words. Here are some confessions of people who realised on their wedding day that they had made a big mistake.

2/7

I felt it in my gut

My parents spent a lot of money on my wedding day. I had it at a beautiful venue with the most delicious dinner and strawberries with liquor inside of them. That morning my mother didn’t have enough money to pay for the limo so my groom gave her $300. When we got home my new husband was very mad. He wanted his money back. I told him I don’t have it now and that he has to wait until next week, so he became very angry and began abusing me. I hid in the bathroom so upset I was crying hysterically. Later that night, I looked at him and I wished that I had not married him.

Her cheating was confirmed on the wedding day

"My ex-wife secretly was in love with a coworker. I suspected it, and she all but confirmed it by inviting him to our wedding, inviting him up to our room on our wedding night, secretly dating him, and lying about it after the wedding."

4/7

Everything leading up to that day was a red flag

"I knew I shouldn’t have done it. Everything leading up to that day was a glaring red flag slapping me in the face. The day we moved in together, I found evidence of him cheating on me, and this wasn’t the first time."

5/7

I found him getting high on the wedding day

"After living with my ex for two years, I married my high school sweetheart. We had been apart for eight years and reconnected. Little did I know, he had a drug problem he hid very well. The day after we got married, I found him in the bathroom getting high."

6/7

My wife was previously married and had a kid

"Shortly after saying 'I do,' I found out my wife was previously married and has a kid — this is with me asking when we first met, 'Are you married? Do you have any kids?'"

7/7

Rules came flooding in shortly after the wedding

"Rules came flooding in shortly after the wedding. I couldn’t drive if he was with me, had to change into ‘nice’ clothes after work, dinner on the table when he came home, no buying medical insurance, no going to the doctor when I was sick, etc. I was stupid and young and stayed."
