Marriage is full of surprises and revelations that are interesting yet quite shocking. Sometimes, to keep marriages intact, partners avoid being fully honest with their spouses, fearing that revealing the secret will break the trust and understanding they share. Six married women anonymously confessed some surprising revelations.
Need for some alone time
“Sometimes I fake important, late-night meetings in my office in front of my husband and kid, and instead go to my one apartment studio on the other side of the city. I hate doing it, but love it at the same time because I just need some time to myself; something that I hardly get with my husband and a 6-year-old around me, at home.”
Secret flame just before marriage
“My husband doesn’t know that I dated someone till the day I married him. I loved my ex at that time, but I knew I could never marry him. But after my marriage, I never contacted him ever and so, my husband doesn’t have to know about it, as long as I am being loyal and a good wife. Why ruin a perfectly good marriage with a thing of the past?”
Dicey money-savings
“I admit it that I do get very irresponsible while spending money, and hardly save anything at all. But I have a clever tactic so that my husband never knows this; when my husband checks the budget every month, I always tell him that there’s less money in the savings account which is spent on minimal groceries and accessories etc. So, ultimately, there’s an extra amount left unknown to him. God bless his soul, he never checks!”
It’s tiresome to hear his commentary on shows so I like watching TV alone
“I prefer watching movies and series alone. I prefer this alone time because he likes to share his views while we watch it and I want to silently enjoy watching it. Moreover, I hate sharing my favourite snacks. I know it will hurt him to know this but I just can’t help it.”
I hate my engagement ring
“My husband thinks he made the best wedding proposal amongst our entire group of friends. He proposed to me at a beautiful dinner, which is nice, but I always wanted one at our favourite spot on the hills nearby. It didn’t have to be as showy as he did. What’s worse, I absolutely dislike the engagement ring. I sometimes, hate to see it.”
Bad relations with the mother-in-law
“I have never been comfortable with my mother-in-law and I’m very sure that she doesn’t like me as well. However, I always send her online gifts so that our relationship remains cordial. It almost feels like giving a bribe, so that she never fights or say unpleasant things in front of her son. But, I do this, only so my husband never feels bad or hurt about the whole situation.”
