What you can learn from Neena Gupta

Boss lady, Neena Gupta is truly an exceptional person. From being a mainstream actress in Bollywood to fighting beauty and age notions, Neena’s journey in the spotlight is truly inspiring and commendable. She didn’t shy away from life’s controversies and challenged critics and trolls at every step. Now one of the most graceful and aged actresses in Bollywood, Neena Gupta has carved a niche of her own. Here are 5 career lessons we all can learn from her.

2/5

Bold choices and fighting against judgements

Neena Gupta has made some pretty bold choices in her life. She had a child out of wedlock and was heavily criticised for not marrying someone. It was difficult for Neena to get back into the industry without having to face heavy criticism for her. She didn’t care about what others said about her; she just focused on giving her daughter, Masaba the best life.

3/5

Believe in yourself

To make a successful career work, the first thing you have to do is believe in yourself to the fullest. At a time when very less senior actors were getting roles in movies, Neena used to call up casting directors for work relentlessly and now, she’s glowing with fame!

4/5

It’s okay to take a break for a while

It’s alright to take a break once in a while. Neena took some time to herself and then she was determined to stand back on her feet in her late 50s. She teaches us that we shouldn’t listen to others and only listen to our hearts, about what we want to do.
5/5

Your career or marriage is your decision

After having her life displayed in the public, Neena was very sceptical about getting married again. But she believes there is no ‘perfect’ time to get married. If one wants to choose their career and be more successful, then so be it.

There is only one lesson: never have sex with a married man. Vivian Richards’ wife was too kind to stick with him. The blame also goes to Neena Gupta for consensual sex with a married man, setting a poor example for future generations. Neena Gupta maybe a good actress but she truly is a character whose personal life choices are unworthy of any praiseworthy recognition.
