Signs that say you are with an insecure partner

Your relationship with your partner can be the best thing that ever happened to you. It can be extremely satisfying and maybe you’re the happiest when you’re around your significant other. But no relationship can escape the feelings of insecurity. No matter how contented you are in your relationship, insecurities will surely arise with time. While there is no problem with being insecure, but sometimes too much of it can take a toll on your relationship. It can lead to negative emotions, jealousy and suspicion, which are the very elements that make a relationship toxic. Therefore, it is crucial that you look out for the signs and try to solve this issue before it hampers your relationship with your partner. Here are six signs that will tell you if your partner is insecure or not.

2/7

Your partner never leaves you alone

Is your partner always lingering around you? Is he afraid to leave you alone at all? Then that is surely a sign of insecurity. The reason he wants to stick around you at all times is because he is worried you might indulge in socializing with others. He is afraid to lose you to anyone else, who he thinks is better than him. Maybe you can calm him down and let him know how special he is to you.

3/7

He keeps questioning you about your plans

One of the most visible signs of insecurity is when your partner asks you a lot of questions about what you will be doing, where you’ll be going or if there’s someone you’re going out with and who. These are not just regular questions about your whereabouts, but these are questions that reek of insecurity. What you must do is tell your partner everything before he feels the need to question you at all.

4/7

Your partner demands your undivided attention

Wanting your partner’s attention is absolutely normal. But when your partner demands it even when you’re extremely busy with family or work, then it’s a sure sign of insecurity. In every relationship, there needs to be a good amount of understanding and when that seems to be missing then you and your partner are surely living in a world of insecurity.

5/7

He keeps bringing up his exes in the conversations

Ex-lovers play an important role in heightening a sense of insecurity. They are either the source of your partner’s distrust in you or an example of someone who is much better than you. Either way, your partner will land up being insecure about their relationship with you.

6/7

Your partner expresses his love for you all the time

Insecurity can also arise when a person loves you too much. Of course, being in a relationship means loving someone to the moon and back, but there’s a difference when you express your love not because you want to but because you want them to say it back. You are just looking for a validation from your partner and checking if they love you too. This is only a sign of insecurity that you need to get rid of.

7/7

Apologizing for no fault at all

One of the sure signs that your partner is insecure is when he is sorry for everything. Even when it’s not his fault, he tends to apologize. While apologizing is a sign of a selfless person, it also indicates a person who is unconfident and unsure about himself. Instead of taking advantage of his vulnerability, you must be gentle with him and make your partner understand his worth.

This is bias towards female partners. Insecurity has no gender.
