Anti-Valentine’s Week 2025

One of the most romantic days of the year, the Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14 each year. This is a day when love is in the air and it is celebrated by people across the world. While Valentine's Day is on February 14, its celebrations begin a week before from February 7 and it goes on till February 13. Each day of the Valentine's Week celebrated love in different ways, such as: Rose Day, Propose Day, Chocolate Day, Teddy Day, Promise Day, Hug Day, and Kiss Day.

Similarly, the week after Valentine's Day is celebrated as the Anti-Valentine's Week. As the name suggests, the Anti-Valentine’s Week is for those people who believe in moving on from a heartbreak, embracing self-love, and even having a little fun after heartbreak. Starting from February 15 and going on to February 21, each day of the Anti-Valentine's Week has a unique meaning. Read on to know more about them here.

Slap Day on February 15

Slap Day marks the beginning of Anti-Valentine’s Week and symbolises letting go of toxic relationships, betrayals, and painful memories of failed-relationships in the past. While it’s not about physical violence, the idea is to metaphorically "slap away" the emotional baggage of a bad relationship. It’s a day to regain your self-respect and remind yourself that you deserve better in life. Many people use this day as a fresh start, moving away from negative influences in their lives. If you’ve been holding onto a toxic past, Slap Day is the perfect time to break free and reclaim your happiness.

Kick Day on February 16

The second day of the Anti-Valentine's Week, is called Kick Day and it is marked on February 16. After letting go of negativity on Slap Day, Kick Day encourages you to "kick out" the bad memories of the past and move on to a better future. This could mean deleting old chats, throwing away gifts from an ex, or unfollowing them on social media-- thus cutting off their negativity. It’s all about removing emotional clutter and making space for positivity. It teaches one to let go of the bad memories and move on in life, thus embracing change and happiness.

Perfume Day on February 17

February 17 is celebrated as Perfume Day, and it is all about refreshing your aura and personal vibe. On this day, singles gift themsleves a perfurme which symbolises a fresh start, thus giving you a sense of confidence and charm. This is also a way to pamper yourselves, go out shopping, or indulge in some self-care practices-- all of which will make you feel good.

Flirt Day on February 18

After letting go of the past toxivity, it is time to move on to better future with Flirt Day which is celebrtaed on February 18 every year. It is a lighthearted celebration of singlehood and newfound confidence. This day encourages singles to go out and meet other singles and embrace the excitement of new possibilities. Flirt Day is followed by Confession Day which is celebrated on February 19 each year. This day is an opportunity to speak your heart out— whether it’s expressing hidden feelings, apologising for past mistakes, or seeking closure. Some people also use this day to confess their emotions to their crush, while others pick this day to confront an ex with about their unresolved feelings, thus getting closure from their past. And so, Confession Day should be taken as an opportunity to sellf-reflect and work on what you really want in your personal life to grow as a person.

Missing Day on February 20

The second-last day of the Anti-Valentine's Week is known as Missing Day, which is celebrated on Febryary 20. On this day, people reflect on theri past relationships, lost friendships, or moments they once cherished-- and miss the happy memories. While it’s natural to miss someone, this day isn’t about dwelling on the past— it’s about embracing it without letting it define you, accepting things, and moving on in life. Missing Day teaches us that it’s okay to feel nostalgic about the past, but it’s also important to move on in life and focus on new experiences.

Breakup Day on February 21

The last day of the Anti-Valentine’s Week is called Breakup Day, and it is marked on February 21. This day signifies freedom, closure, and a fresh start. On this day, people in unhealthy or toxic relationships, situationships, or friendships consciously decide to break-up from the negativity and instead, choose to love themselves instead. This day encourages people to engage in activities that promote self-love. It’s also a reminder that endings are just new beginnings in disguise.
