Modern relationships are complex and difficult

Modern relationships are more complex and challenging than ever before. In a world driven by fast-paced lifestyles, digital distractions, shifting gender roles, and changing expectations, maintaining a healthy relationship often feels overwhelming. Emotional availability, trust, communication, and loyalty are frequently tested in ways previous generations never faced. Social media, dating apps, and the fear of missing out (FOMO) can create insecurities and misunderstandings. Moreover, today’s relationships demand a balance between individual growth and mutual commitment. As personal boundaries expand, so does the need for deeper emotional intelligence and effort. Highlighting this, spiritual leader and motivational speaker Gauranga Das recently shared his three rules to keep a relationship strong in a video posted on social media recently. Here's what they are:

2/4

"Be honest about how you feel"

"Don't pretend you're okay, if you are not. Hiding your true feelings only creates distance. Be open and share what's really going on," shared Gauranga Das. It is often said that communication is the key to success for any relationship, and rightly so. Open and honest communication helps you bond with your partner at a deeper and emotional level.

3/4

"Don't let pride and ego rule your arguments"

Fights are inevitable in any relationship. However, it is how you handle conflicts that can make or break a relationship in the long run. "During a fight don't let your ego get in the way. It's no about winning, it is about resolving things together," Das shared.

4/4

"Have deep and meaningful conversations"

"Ask about their day, their highs and their lows. Just as watering a plant daily helps it grow, regular conversations nurture your relationship and strengthens your bond," advised Das. Try to sneak in atleast 30 minutes of uninterrupted alone-time with your partner daily-- it could be while having your breakfast together or the evening tea. Talk freely and discuss your day with them. This simple daily habit can help you both to bond and feel closer emotionally.
