Holi hangover

Holi hangover is the worst to handle, especially after a long weekend. The dreadful festive fever can get to the best of us and make us indulge in foods and drinks we may not otherwise. Some common symptoms of a typical Holi hangover are nausea, dizziness, fatigue, and loss of appetite. Rather than locking yourself in a room or killing your heart and avoiding festive specialties, here are a few tricks which can help you avoid a classic Holi hangover:

2/8

All hail lord water

ALL HAIL LORD WATER: Yes, do not underestimate the power of this common drink. Loading yourself with water before and during the celebration time will help you in preventing that oh-so-nauseous hangover the morning after.

3/8

Black+ white is not grey

BLACK+WHITE IS NOT GREY: Don’t mix your drinks with too many liquids. Avoid mixing vodka with rum and whiskey with gin. If you do so, not only will you ruin the taste of these individual drinks, but your body will lose appetite and your head will remain heavy for at least 3 days!

4/8

Gulp down

GULP DOWN: Now is the time to gulp down all that yummy Holi breakfast prepared at home. Staying empty stomach will lead to adverse effects of bhang and alcohol. Food will help you stay active and not reach the state of uneasiness.

5/8

Sleep, little baby

SLEEP, LITTLE BABY: Do not be sleep deprived. Make the most of this long weekend you’re getting. Being sleep deprived will only worsen the matter and leave you feeling fatigued and dizzy during the week that follows.

6/8

Let smoke not be your buddy

LET SMOKE NOT BE YOUR BUDDY: Avoid smoking while consuming alcohol as this will only increase the severity of your hangover. Consuming bhang, alcohol, and smoke can be a deadly combination which can prove its poison in the morning after.

7/8

Say bye to chai!

SAY BYE TO CHAI: For this one day, restrict yourself from having too much caffeine as this can worsen the effect of nausea. Too many liquids will only lead to a stomach-attack.

8/8

Choose a light liquor

CHOOSE A LIGHT LIQUOR: Avoid loading yourself with heavy liquor in the following week. Everybody has a different capacity and it's best that you know what won’t lead to an embarrassing situation later. Choosing your drinks wisely is the key.
