Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor Khan: Two star moms and their parenting styles

No doubt about this, both Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Kareena Kapoor Khan are icons leading the way in Bollywood. Strong, beautiful and intelligent, they are also mothers to kids Aaradhya and Taimur and incredibly good examples at that. While Taimur is often spotted with his nanny, Aaradhya is always seen next to her star mom. Let's see their unique motherhood styles....

2/10

Aaradhya Bachchan

Born in 2011, Aaradhya was the one star kid everybody was looking forward to, being born into the family of the famous Bachchans. But fans and media never got to catch a glimpse of the darling daughter until she turned one.

3/10

Taimur Ali Khan

If there is a star kid who broke the internet, it has to be Saif and Kareena’s firstborn, Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi, born in 2016. Unlike Aaradhya, Taimur became a sensation right from the day he came home and continues to hog the limelight.

4/10

There's a difference in their parenting style

No two mothers are the same and this extends to their parenting style as well. Aishwarya and Kareena have set examples and trends with their style of parenting. Any parent struggling to balance their career, family time and parenting duties can seek inspiration from them.

5/10

Changing the perception around motherhood

Even before Taimur was born, Kareena broke stereotypes. Nobody had seen a leading actress walk down the ramp in her pregnancy, flaunting the bump ever before. Right from flaunting the bump to shooting for her film, she did not let motherhood come between her passion and work, which is very inspiring!

For Aishwarya too, motherhood does not hinder her professional duties. A regular at Cannes, ever since her daughter's birth, she took her daughter along even on the red carpet. Their candid moments soon became everybody's favourite on social media.

6/10

Letting their children grow up on their own terms

For both Aishwarya and Kareena, it is important that children grow up with their own individual sense even if they are hogged by the camera flashes at all times. Both the actresses are doing a great job at this. Aaradhya and Taimur have an identity of their own and are quite comfortable with their parents' demanding jobs. Be it showing gratitude or waving to the cameras, the kids are growing up with the same respect their parents have for the industry.

7/10

Not letting their career take a backseat

What every mother battles with is making the big decision to be at home and taking care of the kid over her career. This decision is not only difficult and life altering but it also takes a toll on your well being. For Kareena and Aishwarya, this decision was never a question and in fact, as they say, their children empowered them. They have ensured that their kids grow up in a world where they see both their mother and father work and make a name for themselves. Aishwarya and Kareena went on to deliver hits and doing good work, breaking stereotypes.

8/10

Juggling career and motherhood

It’s a question every celebrity mother has been asked over and over again. Whenever Taimur was spotted outside with his nanny, people started questioning Kareena and trolled her for not spending enough time with her son. Kareena replied by saying that she doesn't need to declare her love and bond in the public.

For Aishwarya, spending time with Aaradhya comes first, even if it means that her life is busy all the time. She takes her kid to the shoot and has a nanny to help but has always maintained that she will never have it any other way.

9/10

Ensuring a normal upbringing

Being a celeb opens up a lot of doors and privileges but it can be just too much. Kareena, who is aware of the nation’s obsession around her son cannot keep him away from the limelight but she wants him to have a very normal upbringing. However, it is interesting to see that she is letting him face the cameras, which he loves as well.

For Aishwarya, she ensures that Aaradhya grows up in a world which is very normal and far from glamour. She takes her daughter to the zoos and museums, spending time with her grandparents just like any normal child would.

10/10

Being an equal parent

It is very important that both partners are involved in raising a child. Kareena and Aishwarya have balanced the equation beautifully. As much as they are good mothers, they make it a point to involve their partner in the job and not take on the duties all upon themselves. This is something every parent should do as well.
