6 Beautiful plants that thrive with very little sunlight

Every apartment does not feature sunny balconies and beautiful gardens. However, there is no need to worry, as several indoor plants can adapt and grow successfully in shaded conditions. Such species are perfect for bedrooms, offices, narrow corridors, and all other areas with insufficient daylight. In addition, these species are considered low-maintenance and easy to take care of. In total, six plants will be examined in this presentation that are suitable for indoor growing.

2/7

Snake plant – A true low-light survivor

Many experts recommend the snake plant as one of the most uncomplicated types of plants for indoor growing. It features upright and sword-shaped leaves and is able to withstand low light, irregular watering, and unstable climate. According to gardening specialists, although snake plants develop more rapidly in the presence of enough light, they feel comfortable growing in shaded rooms. These plants are very undemanding and therefore will suit active house owners.

3/7

ZZ plant – Great for shady corners

ZZ plants became very popular in recent years due to its ability to grow successfully in poorly lit conditions. Glossy and green leaves give it an elegant look; moreover, underground rhizomes allow storing water needed by plants during droughts. Many experts state that such plants are nearly indestructible and do not require much care from their owners. ZZ plants can be used to decorate an office or a living room.

4/7

Peace lily – Attractive despite a lack of light

Many people appreciate Peace Lilies for their beautiful appearance and ability to bloom at least once per year. It is interesting to know that this type of plant can develop in shaded spaces without any problems; however, brighter indirect light will stimulate flowering. One of the main advantages of this species is that it shows signs of dehydration by folding leaves slightly.

5/7

Pothos – Tolerant to any lighting

This species is famous for its cascading leaves that form attractive vines. Like Chinese evergreens, pothos features heart-shaped green leaves that make it a perfect choice for shelf or hanging displays. According to specialists, pothos plants can tolerate various climatic conditions, including poorly lit corners of homes and offices. In addition, they require minimal care and can propagate easily.

6/7

Chinese evergreen – Colourful plant for indoor decoration

There are many benefits of using Chinese Evergreens as indoor decorations. First, these plants have beautifully patterned leaves that come in different shades of green, pink, silver, and red. Second, such plants can withstand shade quite well, unlike others. Specialists advise planting Chinese evergreens for those who do not have sunny balconies or gardens. Moreover, these plants thrive under artificial lighting.

7/7

Cast iron plant – One of the toughest

This species received its name because of its toughness to environmental changes. Such indoor plants are able to grow successfully in poor light conditions and endure temperature fluctuations and occasional neglect. Long and dark green leaves of this species give it an elegant appearance that makes it suitable for use in every living area. These plants can easily tolerate difficult conditions indoors.
