A small workout routine helped this mom lose 30 kilos

A 44 year old woman has achieved a remarkable weight loss of 30 kilos in just 6 months. The mother of three has lost 30 kilos "after starting small and doing a 20-minute workout routine in her bedroom," Daily Mail reported.

She 'lost herself' after gaining weight

The woman says, as reported by the media, to have gained weight after becoming a mother in 30s. 'I've really struggled with food my whole life, I had no education about what balanced meals were or how to cook for myself,' she told the media outlet.

So, how did she start losing weight?

She started her weight loss journey by losing 1 kilo a week by slowly changing her diet habit. She added a 10-minute walk around the block and started exercising with weights in her house. She confessed to having bad food habits which was loaded with carbs and sugar and had no protein. She admitted that she always had white bread, jam and fried foods.

She did not hire a personal trainer

Determined to do everything on her own, she did not hire a personal trainer or a certified nutritionist to help her in the weight loss journey. "I started in my bedroom, my safe space, and the progress was really slow but I started noticing a change in how I moved and ate. I fell in love with the routine and eating well - I lost 30kg in about six months and I loved the way I looked," she told the media outlet.

My family mostly has homemade food these days

She got so used to regular and clean eating habits that she incorporated them in her family meals as well. As told to the media outlet, her kids also used to eat carbs and sugar like her, but these days their diet is more protein focused and is mostly homemade and healthy. She focuses on having good carbs like quinoa, brown rice, sweet potato, and whole-meal bread.

Currently, she offers a wellness program

Her family and friends were amazed by the drastic transformation and urged her to coach people who struggle to losing weight. 'I now offer a wellness program that is a mix of fitness, nutrition, and accountability - and it's truly been the most gratifying thing,' she told Daily Mail.

Key things to take note of

There are a few takeaways from this weight loss journey that others can take note of. Clean eating, focusing on homemade and healthy foods; including a fixed schedule of exercise no matter how short it is, incorporating the dietary and fitness changes to your family members, and remaining consistent in the journey are a few of the notable lessons one can learn from this.
