Shehnaaz Gill has been advised to not practice Yoga, a shocking fact that the actress herself has shared in one of the recent episodes of Desi Vibes With Shehnaaz Gill. In the show, Shehnaaz opens up about her yoga mistake before Shilpa Shetty Kundra. Shehnaaz's fitness routine is highly searched over the internet post her amazing weight loss transformation. She begins with admiring Shilpa and admits that she learned Yoga from her. “Mein aapse seekhi hu yoga karna. (I have learnt yoga from you),” revealed Shehnaaz.
On why she has been advised to not practice Yoga
Shehnaaz revealed she injured her C3 and C5 while flaunting her yoga skills with her grandparents over a video call. “Mere taach awaz aayi yaha se (pointing at the back of her neck) meine kaha ye kya huya? C3, C5 hil gaya," she said. Shehnaaz revealed that she was doing this asana while lying in bed.
What is Halasana?
Halasana is also known as the plow pose. It is an inverted yoga asana pose in which the body takes the shape of a plow or a hala. Usually, those who have an injured neck or spine are not advised to do this yoga. People who have high blood pressure are also advised against practicing it.
How to do it safely?
Lie on your back with your arms beside you, and keep your palms downwards. Inhale slowly and lift your feet off the floor. Raise your legs vertically. Continue to breathe normally and support your hips and back with your hands. Bend and stretch your legs to sweep at a 180-degree angle over your head till your toes touch the floor. Keep your back perpendicular to the floor. Keep your body relaxed and breathe slowly. Do not rush yourself while doing this. Keep it slow and steady.
What are the benefits of Halasana?
Halasana tones the legs and improves their flexibility, it stimulates the thyroid gland, improves the immune system, and calms the nervous system. It alleviates stress and fatigue. If you have sore back muscles and abs, this yoga asana might help you.
Who should not do halasana?
While halasana does have several health benefits, people with diarrhea and asthma are advised not to do the asana. Those with high blood pressure are also advised to not do halasana. If you have neck and back injury, it is advisable to do halasana under expert supervision.

Initially, it seems easy to do yoga poses. The real effort in practicing yoga lies in the preparation before and after the session. Warm up first before doing it. Make sure you have a proper mat, are wearing proper clothes, and have completed your morning chores before starting a yoga session.
