Favourite Holi food of TV celebrities

Want to know how your favourite TV stars celebrate Holi? Yes, they love the festival as much as we do and while they do love to play with colours, food plays a very important part of their celebrations too. Times Food spoke to some of the most popular stars on television and they spoke about how they celebrate Holi and what all they cook and eat on the festival.

Sonal Vengurlekar

On Holi we make Gujiya and Puranpoli for sure as we are Maharashtrians and Holi for me is incomplete without these sweets.

3/12

Sayantani Ghosh

We use to make Thandai without bhang and I think Thandai is synonymous to Holi. We also used to play with our culinary skills by giving Gujiyas a slight Bengali twist. For me Thandai and Gujiyas are the two must-have food items during Holi.

4/12

Parvati Vaze

Holi is my favourite festival. Since childhood I love playing Holi and after playing Holi with my friends and family I used to feel hungry. My mom used to make either Puri Aloo or Chana Puris. And for dessert we always had Sheera, which is a traditional Maharashtrian dessert.

5/12

Nyra Banerjee

Holi falls on full moon. In Bengali, we call it Dol Poornima. On the eve of Holi, I burn Holika with elaichi and camphor. Colours have always played a major part in my life as I relate them to the chakras of my body. I like to play Holi with natural colors and savoring my favourote delightful sweets at home.

6/12

Mohit Malhotra

Holi is incomplete without mouth-watering Gujiyas that we used to make every year. Also, we make amazing Dahi Bhalla and Thandai to complement it along with Dal Kachori. So, these delicacies were real feast for me.

7/12

Mansi Srivasatava

For me, the one food without which Holi is incomplete is Gujiya. I always saw my mom preparing them and hiding them in the kitchen shelf at some height so that they are not within my reach. She knows that I can finish a plateful of Gujiyas in just one go. But she doesn't know that I used to find them by climbing the shelf of the kitchen. I always used to help her in preparing those scrumptious delights.

8/12

Karishma Kotak

In London, it is difficult to get home-made traditional food. One of my closest friends throws a grand Holi party every year and many mouth-watering delicacies like Gujiyas, Halwa, Shrikhand, Poori and Pua are prepared on this day. Gujiya will still be my forever favourite sweet.

9/12

Hunar Hale

Dahi Vada is the most favourite dish in our house during Holi. On this day, I gorge on the delicacies like Malpua and Gujiyas without thinking about my diet and exercise.

10/12

Gulki Joshi

I love Holi because it adds colours to our lives. We used to prepare Shrikhand and Poori on this day. I usually celebrate Holi at my best friend's house and there we savour the delicious homemade sweets like Gujiya and Halwa. I eagerly wait for this time of the year.

11/12

Donal Bisht

A night before Holi, my entire family used to sit together and help my mom in making Gujiya. It remains one of the most fond memories. Gujiya still remains my favourite festival delicacy.

12/12

Avinash Sachdev

My Maa makes amazing Chikkis to which I always look forward to every year. The one thing I relish the most is the home-made Sindhi Ghear which is quite similar to Ghevar but it taste better than the Ghevar. This is the one thing I miss the most at the time of Holi.
