Kolkata-style Egg Roll Recipe

With winters in its full swing, it’s time to indulge in greasy treats that are loaded with flavours. This season, give the Kolkata-style Egg Roll a try at home. It’s a simple and easy recipe that can be made in a jiffy. Scroll down to read the simplest recipe.

Ingredients required



1 cup maida, ½ tsp salt, 1 tsp oil, water (to knead), oil for cooking, 2 eggs, salt to taste, a pinch of black pepper, 1 onion, 1 green chilli, 1/2 tsp lemon juice, salt to taste, 1 tsp green chilli sauce, 2 tbsp tomato ketchup, and 1 tsp chaat masala

To make paratha, mix maida, salt, and oil. Knead into a soft dough and let it rest for 15 minutes.

Step 2

Roll into thin discs and cook on a hot tawa with oil until lightly crisp on both sides. Keep them aside.

Now, beat eggs with salt and pepper.

In the meantime place the paratha on heated taaw, pour beaten egg over the top, spread evenly. Also, flip the paratha so that the egg side cooks and sticks to the paratha.

Keep the egg side up, add onions, green chilli, lemon juice, salt, and sauces.

Roll it tightly in foil or parchment paper and serve hot.
