What happens when you eat raw food

Food is the fuel that keeps the body active and energized, and to keep it alive, it is important to feed it live food in its purest raw form. Sadhguru suggests that by eating dead food (cooked ones), you can't be alive. And that's why he suggests consuming at least 40–50% of daily food in its raw form to gain maximum benefits. In a video on his official YouTube channel, he explained the key benefits of eating raw foods. Scroll down to read the details.

Living enzymes

Every fruit and vegetable contains living enzymes, and when you cook the food, you are largely destroying these enzymes. And then, when you eat these foods, the body has to struggle to reconstruct that part that has been destroyed and then only it can digest. Normally the first one, one and a half hours after eating it tends to take the body down. After that, slowly it recovers.

3/6

Better body hydration

Cooking food often takes away its water content that the body needs to keep you active and energized. Eating them raw helps the body absorb the water content easily and further smoothen the digestion and balance energy.

4/6

More vitality

Eating raw fruits, vegetables, nuts, and seeds allows your body to absorb more live nutrients, which help in cell repair, detoxification, improved metabolism, and boost overall vitality.

5/6

Improved clarity

Eating raw foods helps with sound sleep and the quality sleep helps clear the doubts in mind and keep you active, alert and energized during the day.

6/6

Reduced sleep quota

Sadhguru suggests trying raw fruits at night and you will observe that you will fall asleep easily and next morning you will get up before the regular time. It happens because the system is at ease and helps you recover faster and then wakes you relaxed, light, and easy.
