Zero-oil snacks to make your Holi healthy

Planning a party to celebrate Holi? But afraid of the high calorie and oil loaded snacks, then fret not as we have curated some easy yet effortless zero-oil snacks to make the festive feast even more healthy and interesting. The festival of colours is around the corner and it’s time to dive into the festive fervour with some spicy, crispy and cheesy snacks made with almost no-oil. So, without further ado, let’s get started and cook up some fun delicacies.

​Roasted masala chickpeas

This anytime snack makes for a healthy and crispy appetizer. Take a 1 cup of boiled chickpeas, mix it with ½ teaspoon cumin powder, ¼ teaspoon turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon amchur powder and 1 teaspoon red chili powder and salt, mix it well. Next, line a parchment paper and place these chickpeas on it, bake for 10-15 minutes or till the chickpeas appear crispy. This dish can also be prepared in an air fryer.

Spicy peanut bhel

To make this quick party recipe, soak and boil 2 cups of peanuts. In the meantime, chop 1 tomato, 1 onion, 3 green chilies,1 cucumber, 1 carrot. Next, take a large bowl, add ¼ cup of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon red chili powder, ½ teaspoon chaat masala, roasted cumin powder and whisk it well, add the boiled peanuts, chopped veggies and toss it nicely. Next, add a handful of coriander leaves and sev, enjoy!

​Eggplant pizza


This simple yet amazingly delicious pizza recipe can be made in just a few minutes with some simple kitchen ingredients. To make this dish cut slightly thick slices of eggplant, spread some ketchup or home made spicy tomato sauce. Then layer it with mozzarella cheese bits, top with some veggies followed by cheese bits, oregano, salt, pepper and chili flakes. Bake or grill it for 5-7 minutes and serve hot.

​Aloo Chaat


To make this healthy aloo chaat, boil potatoes and line them on a tray. Bake them crisp with a pinch of salt and pepper. Next, place these potatoes in a tray. In the meantime, take a bowl, add curd, red chili powder, black pepper, rock salt, cumin powder and little sugar, whisk it well and pour over the potatoes, garnish with chopped veggies, handful of coriander leaves and sev. To make it more delicious green or red chutney can be added to this dish.

Add a zesty twist to your festive feast by adding this simple recipe to the festive menu. To make this easy recipe, soak and pressure cook channa. Next, take a pan, add in the channa, chopped veggies, red chutney, spices like black pepper, rock salt, cumin powder, amchur powder, mix it well. Lastly, add lemon juice, coriander leaves and green chiles, toss it well and enjoy.
