How to consume raw banana during fasting

If you are fasting during Navratri and trying to avoid potatoes, raw bananas, or kaccha kela, they can be a wholesome choice. Packed with energy, fiber, and essential nutrients, raw banana is light on the stomach and provides complex carbohydrates that release energy slowly, keeping you energized throughout the day. The fiber helps improve digestion, prevents constipation, and keeps you feeling fuller for longer periods. And the resistant starch present in raw bananas acts like soluble fiber, nourishing gut health and promoting better metabolism. Here we have curated a list of five foods one can combine with raw bananas to boost fiber intake during the 9-day fasting period.

How to combine: Simple way is to add roasted makhana to raw banana curry or tikkis for extra crunch and fiber.

4/6

Lauki (Bottle Gourd)

How to combine: One can pair raw banana with lauki in a light sabzi to make it more filling and digestion-friendly. One can also make a dry sabzi with these two, that can be consumed during fasting.

5/6

Singhara (Water Chestnut Flour)

It is a gluten-free flour that aids digestion, prevents constipation, and helps keep you fuller for longer. It contains potassium, iron, magnesium, zinc, and phosphorus that support heart health and bone strength.
How to combine: One can use it in cutlets or cheelas with raw banana for a wholesome, fiber-rich vrat snack.

6/6

Sweet Potato (Shakarkand)
