Even as home delivery apps are working in full swing, people are wary of ordering food and with ample time in hands, they are ready to experiment too. Making pizza is no rocket science and if you know how to make pizza base at home, it is a cakewalk! Here is how you can make the perfect pizza dough at home.

How to make pizza dough

While burger and cake can be easily made at home using various methods. It’s the pizza that people think is difficult to make at home. However, this article will help you in making pizza at home in an easy way. The only trick is that you should be able to make fine pizza dough. This article will take you through the step-by-step method to prepare the homemade pizza dough.

Pizza dough is the foundation of a delicious pizza recipe, if it’s not kneaded right then your whole recipe can go hay way. However, worry not, as we will tell you the easiest way to prepare the pizza dough at home. You just have to keep the recipe simple. To make the pizza dough, you would require – all-purpose flour, dry yeast, sugar, salt, warm water and a little oil.

First, take some warm water in a bowl and mix sugar and dry yeast in it. Mix well. Then, take a dough kneading plate and add all-purpose flour in it. Add 2 pinches of salt to it and add the yeast water in it along with a little oil. Knead a smooth dough and let it rest for 1-2 hours. This will help your dough in rising well.

How to stretch the Pizza dough

We know, you are not an expert in making the Pizza dough. You can watch an expert in doing so using your hands, but being a starter, you will surely fail at it as it takes a lot of hard work to make fine pizza dough. So, once your dough has risen, you can use a rolling pin and roll the dough in circular motions. The pizza base needs to be round. Even if it’s rolled in some other shape, you can use your hands to stretch it the way you want to and then cut the round shape using a shape cutter or a large pan or plate.

The other way is to use your fingers of both the ends and press the dough using your fingertips and the using your palms to press the dough down. Gently, start pulling the dough in outward and circular motion and rotating it to make a round shape. You can keep doing it until the dough the flattened completely.

How to make the Homemade Pizza

Once the dough is stretched out well, roll the ends inwards and give them some edge. Then, apply a little vegetable or olive oil using a kitchen brush. Afterwards, prick the pizza using a fork all over the base in order to prevent any bubbles during baking. Then, take a baking tray, and brush it with a little olive oil and place the base over it. Use your favourite toppings and bake the pizza in a preheated oven (475-degree Fahrenheit) for 15-20 minutes.

Can the pizza dough be flavoured?

Though, you can use your creativity and add a few herbs or flavoured salt in your dough, the traditional pizza dough is no flavoured. Believe it or not, but the pizza dough is ideally bland with no taste of its own and that’s the sole reason, why many people scrap the sides and eat the part where there are toppings.
