Struggling to lose weight, but don’t want to eat bland boring meals, then we have got your back with some delightful recipes made with Bajra also known as Pearl Millet. There’s no denying that millets are known for their health enriching properties, but making them in a healthy and delicious way can be a challenge! Well, we have got your back with some delicious Bajra Millet recipes.

Bajra Pulav

To make this amazing pulav, you need a 1 cup pearl millet. To begin with this recipe, dry roast the pearl millet and keep it aside. Take a pan and add 2 tablespoon ghee, once the ghee is hot enough add in a handful of cashews and almonds along with some raisins, toss them and transfer on a plate. Then to the same ghee add in the bay leaf, cloves, star anise, cardamom and some jeera, add in chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies, shredded chicken and then spice up the pulav with salt, pepper, red chili powder, turmeric powder, kasuri methi, coriander powder and cook the masala. Lastly, add the dry roasted bajra, toss the biryani, sprinkle some water and cover the lid. Once the pulav is ready, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot!

Bajra Chocolate Pancake


To make this quick pancake you need ½ cup of bajra flour and an equal portion of jaggery. To begin with this pancake recipe, sift the flour using a sieve, then to the flour add ½ cup melted jaggery, 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, 1 mashed banana, make a smooth batter by mixing these ingredients with warm water. You can also use warm milk to make the batter. Heat a pan and grease it with some butter, then gently pour a ladle of the batter, make the pancakes by flipping the sides and serve hot with maple syrup or dates syrups and butter.

Bajra Pizza


Give your pizza cravings a healthy twist with this easy Bajra Pizza recipe, take a large bowl add in 1 cup of bajra flour, 2 tablespoon curd, salt as per taste. Knead a smooth dough by adding water gradually and keep the dough aside to fluff up a bit. In the meantime, wash and chop veggies like 1 cup corn, 1 cup mixed peppers, ½ cup tomatoes chopped, 2 green chilies, 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese and 1 cup shredded chicken. Then using a rolling pin make a thick base and cook the base on a pan or bake the base. Then spread the sauce, sprinkle some cheese and add veggies, meat and cheese along with salt, pepper, oregano and red chilli flakes. Lastly, cook the pizza or bake it the way you like and enjoy!

Potato Bajra Pakode


Craving for fritters, then mash 2 large potatoes and mix them with a handful of coriander leaves, 3 green chilies, 1 chopped onion along with 1 cup bajra flour and 2 tablespoon semolina, make a smooth thick batter. Heat oil in a skillet for deep frying, gently slide the batter with a spoon and fry the pakodas. Serve hot with chai and enjoy.

Bajra Chila


If you are looking for a quick and healthy breakfast chila, then try including bajra by following this easy recipe. To make this recipe, you need 1cup bajra flour, 3 tablespoons of rice flour, 1medium onion, 1 chopped tomato, 1 chopped capsicum, 3 green chilies, 1 handful coriander leaves. To make a smooth batter by mixing all the ingredients. In the meantime, heat a pan and add ghee, pour a ladle of the batter, cook by flipping sides and serve hot with curd and pickle.
