What is Pneumonia?

Pneumonia is a respiratory disorder which happens because of the inflammation of the air sacs in one or both lungs. These air sacs commonly known as alveoli are filled up with fluids or pus which can cause a breathing problem and also fever, cough and chills. The fluid is called mucus or phlegm which causes a lot of discomfort. It is caused by bacteria, fungi and viruses. This infection is common in infants and people who are above 65 years as they have a weak immune system.

It is a life-threatening condition and you must immediately rush to the doctor if even a slight breathing discomfort develops and there is no way pneumonia can be cure by home remedies and foods. It needs treatment in a hospital with a concoction of drugs. However, after the initial critical phase is over, you can include some nourishing foods in your diet to help speed up recovery.
