Trisha Krishnan steals the spotlight in a dreamy blue silk saree at Vijay’s oath ceremony

Trisha Krishnan brings old-school South Indian glamour to Vijay’s oath-taking ceremony

While all eyes were supposed to be on C. Joseph Vijay during his grand oath-taking ceremony in Chennai, Trisha Krishnan quietly walked in and ended up delivering one of the most talked-about fashion moments of the day.

The actor arrived at Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium with her mother, Uma Krishnan, and instantly stood out in a gorgeous blue silk saree that felt equal parts elegant and nostalgic. Amid the political buzz, security chaos, cheering supporters, and packed crowds, Trisha’s look brought in a calm kind of grace that social media immediately picked up on.

The saree

And honestly, it was the simplicity of the whole look that made it work.

For the big occasion, Trisha picked a soft aqua-blue Kanjivaram saree woven with delicate motifs and rich gold zari borders. It had that classic old-money South Indian vibe - the kind of saree that looks like it belongs in a family heirloom collection rather than a trend cycle.

Instead of adding too many dramatic elements, she kept the styling clean and traditional. Her blouse, in a soft cream shade with detailed gold embroidery, balanced the richness of the saree beautifully without overpowering it.

The accessories

But the real scene-stealer was her hair.

Trisha wore it in a sleek low bun wrapped in fresh jasmine flowers, or malli poo, giving the entire look that timeless South Indian festive charm. No flashy styling tricks, no over-the-top accessories - just classic elegance done really well.

Her jewellery followed the same mood. She wore a diamond choker with ruby detailing in the centre, matching earrings, delicate bangles, and a statement ring. It looked polished and regal without crossing into “trying too hard” territory.

Even her makeup stayed soft and fresh.

Rosy cheeks, glowing skin, kohl-lined eyes, a muted mauve lip, and a tiny bindi brought everything together. The overall look felt graceful, effortless, and very rooted in tradition — something that’s becoming increasingly rare on celebrity appearance circuits these days.

Fans loved the look

As photos and clips from the ceremony started flooding social media, fans couldn’t stop talking about how beautifully Trisha carried the saree. A lot of people also pointed out how refreshing it was to see a celebrity embrace such classic styling without turning it into a heavily curated fashion performance.

And that’s probably why the look connected so strongly online.

In a time when celebrity fashion often feels loud and overly trend-focused, Trisha’s appearance was proof that a well-draped silk saree, fresh jasmine flowers, and understated jewellery can still outshine almost anything.

The actor was also seen warmly greeting fans as she arrived at the venue, adding to the excitement surrounding the historic political event.

Hitting headlines

Interestingly, Trisha had already been making headlines recently after celebrating her birthday at Tirupati Temple before later being spotted at Vijay’s residence - something that had already sparked conversation among fans.

But at the oath ceremony, it was all about the fashion moment.

With one elegant silk saree and a gajra-adorned bun, Trisha Krishnan once again reminded everyone that timeless style never really needs to scream for attention.
