Political news from Kaduna State has once again come into focus after a young aspirant, who recently entered the public spotlight, decided to step away from the 2027 election race. The development has been widely discussed in his constituency because his entry into politics had already attracted attention in a short time. The person at the center of this update is Mahmoud Sadis Buba, also known as “Abin Al’ajabi.”

Withdrawal from the APC 2027 race

Mahmoud Sadis Buba has stepped down from the race for the House of Representatives seat representing Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in Kaduna State.

He shared the update through a Facebook post and also informed the APC Chairman in Kaduna State about his decision.

With this move, he is no longer part of the contest for the APC ticket for the upcoming election cycle.

Reason behind the decision

According to Buba, the decision came after discussions with his family, political associates, and party stakeholders. He said he did not take the step alone and that it followed internal consultations.

He explained that the decision was linked to reconciliation efforts within the party and the need to support unity.

He said, “This is not an easy decision. But it is because of the reconciliation efforts that stakeholders and leaders of our party initiated. After long consultations with my family, political associates, and stakeholders within our great party, I have decided that this decision is in the best interest of the All Progressives Congress (APC). I believe that standing firmly behind a single candidate is important for our victory in the general election and for the continued progress of our constituency and state.”

How he came into public attention

Before stepping down, Buba had already passed the screening stage of the APC for the House of Representatives seat.

After that, he began to gain public attention on social media. His name started trending, not only because of his political ambition but also because of discussions around his personal background.

There were online claims suggesting confusion about his age, with some viral content claiming he could be around 15 to 16 years old based on circulating documents.

However, Buba had earlier stated in an interview with the BBC that he is 25 years old and believes he meets the constitutional requirement to contest elections.

What he said about his condition

Buba has dwarfism, which he says is inherited in his family. He has spoken openly about it and how he views it personally.

As quoted by the BBC, he said: “That is how God created me, and that is how He wants me to be. My condition has never worried me; instead, it is something I am proud of.”
