India is a country rich with myths, legends, and folktales narrated over time. The creators of the content we consume blend this unique quality into their storytelling. Superheroes are beings blessed with powers beyond human capabilities. The characters rooted in culture and values have succeeded in capturing the imagination of audiences with their exceptional abilities and inherent goodness. The most interesting thing about superheroes is that they possess a human instinct and goodness, which separates them from supervillains. Let's take a look at eight favorite superheroes of all time that have become symbols of hope and resilience and the impact they had on the audience.

Shaktiman is the superhero featured in the television series of the same name, which aired on DD National from September 27, 1997, to March 27, 2005, on Sundays. Shaktiman gains his powers from the elements of nature—Earth, wind, water, fire, and space. Shaktiman was a human who lived as a photographer for a newspaper and went by the name Pandit Gangadhar Vidhyadhar Mayadhar Omkarnath Shastri.

Devi is a celestial warrior Goddess who was created with the sole purpose of defeating the evil God Lord Bala. The Gods who endowed this responsibility on Devi gave a little of their powers to her, and she soon became very powerful. She defeated Bala, and the Gods decided that the entity of Devi should be transferred to a human host body so that each time Bala threatens to create chaos in the world, Devi can curb and annihilate this threat.

Another Raj Comics creation, Bheriya is a half-human and half-wolf superhero. Although he is half-wolf, he is kind and not at all aggressive. He excels at hand-to-hand combat and can even communicate with other wolves. This superhero has a long list of nemeses, and some of them include Kobi, Elephanto, Kaigula, and King Luna.

While the movie was named after its villain Ra-One, the superhero in the film was G-One. This robot, which imitates the physical appearance of its maker, saves the world from a dangerous robot, Ra-One, who comes out of the game. After the death of his maker, G-One is activated in real life and then protects his creator's wife and son.

Parmanu is the Indian comic character created by Raj Comics. The unique suit allows the hero to exhibit various atomic-based abilities, which include splitting into atoms, flying, and reducing or increasing his own size. To obscure this part of his life, he works as a police officer in the series.

Krrish is one of the most loved superheroes of all time. Krrish’s father, who was simple-minded, was given superhuman powers by extraterrestrial beings. Krissh, who grows up to be the exact copy of his father, also inherits his father's abilities. He goes on to become one of the coolest superheroes. In the three-series movie, Krissh faces many villains, but it is in the last that he finds his arch-nemesis, Arya.

Shakti is the representation of Goddess Kali on Earth. But she was not always Shakti; in her life, she was Chanda, but one incident in her own life sparked her fury, and Goddess Kali transformed her into Shakti, the superhero who saves women from all kinds of injustice in the world. The most distinct thing about her character is that on her forehead, she possesses a third eye, which emits beams of light that will kill anyone on whom it focuses.
