These striking blue or bluish-grey scaled snakes are one of the wonders in the reptile world. They are native to the Great Lakes region of North America and can also be found in parts of the Midwest U.S. and southern Ontario, Canada. They are highly active, diurnal hunters. Scientifically called Coluber constrictor foxii, this snake is non-venomous.

Paradise tree snake

These snakes, native to Southeast Asia, are quite adventurous. The paradise tree snake (Chrysopelea paradisi) is famous for both its striking appearance and its extraordinary ability to glide through the air. They come in vibrant colours, ranging from turquoise, green, and yellow, with distinctive yellow stripes running along their body.

The banded krait

You may want to keep a real distance from this striking beauty. Bungarus fasciatus has a bold pattern of black and yellow bands throughout its body. Some of them have blue hues on their scales. They are found throughout Asia and are deadly venomous. They are nocturnal hunters and pose a serious threat to humans despite their relatively small size.
