Victory Venkatesh completes 33 years of a roller-coaster ride in Tollywood

He is the most loved actor in the Telugu film industry with zero negativity and haters. Undoubtedly, he is the best performer with remarkable comedy timing. No one can perform like him in the emotional scenes that left an impact on audiences. Can you guess who he is? Yes, he is none other than Daggubati Venkatesh. Call him Victory Venkatesh, Venky, Chanti or Ganesh, all these names only give a glimpse of the charisma that the superstar of Tollywood, Daggubati Venkatesh oozes with every film.

Peerless Venky who portrayed highly-charged character roles

The peerless Daggubati Venkatesh has completed 33 years in Telugu cinema. His portfolio has a stunning variety of roles. Venkatesh had a difficult first few years since the dominance of other heroes left very little space for emerging actors. Emotion is his primary vocation, but often, the actor has managed to move beyond self-deprecating sequences to portray highly-charged character roles that complement the subject. He converted many hopeless scripts into super hits. Witty dialogue laced with excellent timing and heroic mannerisms endeared him to the masses.

​Promising debut

In 1986, he was launched through a lead role in K Raghavendra Rao's Kaliyuga Pandavulu. This is the debut film of both Venkatesh as a hero and leading lady Khushboo in the South Indian film industry. The actor played the son of a multimillionaire Vijay, who has a lot of arrogance and pride, falls in love with a middle-class girl and forms a group to fight when his father is against their marriage. Though he shot to fame with Kodi Ramakrishna's 1987 film Srinivasa Kalyanam, his fans still remember his courageous role in his debut film, and he even won Nandi Award for Best Male Debut (special).

Venky’s evergreen film of indian cinema

In 1988, venky gave another evergreen film of indian cinema, swarnakamalam. it is ks viswanath's directorial, which is loved by the indian audience. the dance backdrop film was screened at the indian panorama section of the 1988 international film festival of india, the asia pacific film festival and the ann arbor film festival. it received three state nandi awards, three indian express awards and two south filmfare awards, including nandi award for best feature film and filmfare best film award (telugu). besides venky, ilaiyaraaja's composition and bhanupriya's antics and dances are the significant assets of the movie.

​Breakthrough role

His other breakthrough role was of Raja in Bobbili Raja, which released in 1990. It was recorded as a sensational blockbuster at the box office. From his heroic acts to dialogue delivery, everything became a trendsetter. The dialogue, Ayyo ayyo ayyayyo went on to become so famous that the movie itself is remembered for them for generations to come. Directed by B Gopal, the film also featured Divya Bharti, Gummadi, Vanisree, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Satyanarayana, Brahmanandam and among others. His elder brother D Suresh Babu had produced the film under his home banner Suresh Productions.

Venky’s upcoming project

Venkatesh stamped his presence in Telugu cinema through contrasting characters in films such as Shatruvu, Coolie No.1, Kshana Kshanam, Chanti, Sundarakanda, Dharma Chakram, Pavithra Bandham, Preminchukundam Raa, Suryavamsam to name a few. Venky is riding high on his recent success with F2-Fun and Frustration. The film garnered Rs over 100 crores in just two weeks of its run. He will next be seen in the movie Venky Mama, which is directed by KS Ravindra. The film also features Akkineni Naga Chaitanya, Raashi Khanna and Paayal Rajput in the pivotal roles
