Trisha Krishnan had a memorable year in 2023 as she played a significant role in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Leo,’ starring Thalapathy Vijay. She portrayed the wife character of Vijay in this movie, marking their on-screen reunion after 14 years. They were last seen together in the Tamil movie 'Gilli' in 2009. 'Leo' has collected almost 600 crore rupees worldwide and stands as the highest-grossing Tamil film of 2023. Trisha was also seen in Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan 2'.

​Rashmika Mandanna


Rashmika Mandanna made her Bollywood debut alongside actor Ranbir Kapoor in ‘Animal,’ directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga. This film is the third-highest-grossing Indian film of 2023. The movie received mixed reviews from fans and critics, with some finding it too violent and misogynistic. Nevertheless, it added a successful box office opener to Rashmika’s career this year. The actress had a previous box office hit with Allu Arjun, named ‘Pushpa: The Rise'. The sequel to this movie, 'Pushpa 2' will be released on August 15, 2024.

The Lady Superstar, Nayanthara had a great year playing a vital role in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Jawan’ movie. This Atlee directorial is the highest-grossing Indian film in 2023, collecting more than 1000 crore rupees worldwide. 'Jawan' featured a leading cast, including Nayanthara, Deepika Padukone, and Shah Rukh Khan. Their on-screen chemistry played an influential role in the success of this movie.

Shruti Haasan was seen in 'Waltair Veerayya' with Chiranjeevi this year, which was a box office success, crossing around Rs 250 crore rupees. It is marked as one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of 2023. Now, the actress is set to rewrite all the above records with Prashanth Neel’s 'Salaar Part 1: Ceasefire,' which is almost on its way to crossing 'Jawan’s' box office records. The action flick, starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles, is running successfully in theaters from December 22, 2023.

Aishwarya Lekshmi was seen in the 2023 epic drama 'Ponniyin Selvan.' The movie released its Part 2 in 2023, crossing almost 350 crore rupees in earnings. This Mani Ratnam directorial featured Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Jayaram, Prabhu, R. Sarathkumar, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Rahman, and R.
