Tharun Moorthy dismisses reports of Mohanlal's 'Athimanoharam' shoot being stalled, says filming has continued for 78 days
Speculation recently surfaced online claiming that production on Mohanlal's upcoming film 'Athimanoharam' had come to a standstill because of screenplay-related concerns. The rumours quickly gained traction among fans, prompting director Tharun Moorthy to personally address the matter. Taking to social media, the filmmaker firmly denied the reports and clarified that work on the film has been progressing without interruption.

Tharun Moorthy responds to viral claims

Tharun shared a statement through his Instagram Stories, making it clear that the reports about the shoot being suspended were baseless. “Dear friends, I am receiving many messages and calls regarding online news claiming that our shoot has been stopped due to confusion in the script. This is completely false. We have been shooting here in Thodupuzha for the past 78 days.” The director's message reassured fans that the team remains actively engaged in filming despite various challenges. While rejecting the rumours, Tharun admitted that unpredictable weather conditions have occasionally disrupted their plans. However, he stressed that the crew is determined to keep moving forward. “Yes, the rain and weather conditions have affected some of our plans, but our team is working hard to overcome every challenge and continue filming with great enthusiasm and positivity.” The filmmaker indicated that the obstacles have been logistical rather than creative, with the script and production remaining firmly on track.

Tharun Moorthy's appeal against misinformation

Tharun also expressed concern over the spread of unverified news and urged people to be more responsible before sharing such reports online.“I kindly request everyone not to post or spread unverified information for personal likes, views, or reach. Such misinformation can create unnecessary confusion among the audience and affect the efforts of the entire team. Thank you for your understanding and support.”

What to expect from 'Athimanoharam'

Earlier, Tharun had already clarified that 'Athimanoharam' should not be viewed as a follow-up in tone or style to the blockbuster 'Thudarum'. According to him, the film blends elements of a police investigation drama with a strong family narrative at its core. Initially referred to as 'L366', the project marks Mohanlal's 366th film and reunites the actor with Tharun after their successful collaboration on 'Thudarum'.In the film, Mohanlal portrays Sub-Inspector TS Lovelajan. The first-look poster featured the actor in police uniform, smiling amid a crowd of devotees on their pilgrimage to Sabarimala. The screenplay has been penned by Ratheesh Ravi, while Jakes Bejoy handles the music. Shaji Kumar serves as cinematographer, and editing duties are being overseen by Vivek Harshan, known for his work on 'Manjummel Boys' and 'Aavesham'. Meera Jasmine stars opposite Mohanlal in the film.

Busy times ahead for Tharun and Mohanlal

Tharun Moorthy has steadily built a reputation with films such as 'Operation Java', 'Saudi Vellakka', and 'Thudarum'. Apart from 'Athimanoharam', he is also working on another project titled 'Torpedo'.Mohanlal, meanwhile, continues to maintain a packed slate. The veteran actor was recently seen in 'Patriot' and 'Drishyam 3'. He is also expected to make a special appearance in Rajinikanth's upcoming 'Jailer 2', while 'Ram' remains another highly anticipated project in his lineup. With filming continuing steadily in Thodupuzha, the team behind 'Athimanoharam' appears focused on completing the project despite weather-related setbacks and online speculation.
