Mammootty


Mammootty is all set to play a triple role in upcoming project directed by debutante, Saji. Mamukka will play the roles of three different men in their '50s. The movie is all set to go on the floors next year. He has played a triple role earlier in Ranjith directed 2009 film, Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha. Mammootty has appeared in double roles in more than 15 films. Some of the films are Parampara (1990), Dada Sahib (2000), Balram vs. Tharadas (2006), Mayabazar (2008) and Ee Pattanathil Bhootham (2009).

Prem Nazir


Prem Nazir holds the record of playing double roles in more than 35 films of his career. The first movie in which he had played a double role was the historical film, Kunjali Marakkar, directed by SS Rajan. The film won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam. Some other films where he has played double roles are Rahasyam (1969), Makane Ninakku Vendi (1971), Football Champion (1973), Picnic (1975) and Marupacha (1982). He even played triple roles in films, Ernakulam Junction (1971), Pushpanjali (1972) and Amme Narayana (1984).

Mohanlal


Mohanlal’s name is enough to make a blockbuster out of a film, but there are some films where viewers got to see Mohanlal in a double role. In comparison to Prem Nazir and Mammootty, Mohanlal has played a double role in lesser films. Some of the films are Udayon (2005) directed by Bhadran, Naadody (1992) directed by Thampi Kannanthanam and Raavanaprabhu (2001) directed by Ranjith. Raavanaprabhu was the sequel to the 1993 release, Devaasuram, directed by I. V. Sasi and was scripted by Ranjith.

<strong>Jayaram</strong><br /> <br /> <br /> Handsome actor, Jayaram, has acted in family entertainers for the most part. He delivered stupendous hits in the &lsquo;80s and the &lsquo;90s. Even now he has the same charm as he did 20 years ago. Jayaram has acted in many films in dual roles. Some such films are <em>Mayilattam</em> (2004) directed by V. M. Vinu and <em>Rahasya Police</em> (2009) directed by K. Madhu. Though the films didn&#39;t work much, Jayaram&#39;s acting was appreciated.

Dileep


Character actor, Dileep, has acted in very few films in double roles. Some such films are Pachakuthira (2006) directed by Kamal, Kunjikoonan (2002) directed by Sasi Shanker and Vellaripravinte Changathi (2011) directed by Akku Akbar. However, his portrayal has been commendable in all these films.
