The week that was! Resul Pookutty to Suresh Gopi, M-Town celebs who made headlines

Good evening movie buffs! We are covering Resul Pookutty’s directorial debut, an update on Suresh Gopi’s next film, Shane Nigam filming for ‘Aayirathonnam Raavu’, and everything that made headlines in M-Town this week.

Actor Guinness Pakru recently escaped from an accident, unhurt. The mishap took place on Monday (Apr 11) at Muzhuvangaduchira near the bypass in Thiruvalla. Guinnes Pakru’s car got hit by a truck, which lost control, fortunately, none were hurt in the mishap. The actor was reportedly travelling from Thiruvananthapuram to Kochi, along with his driver.

Superstar Suresh Gopi is joining hands with cinematographer-director Jibu Jacob for his next. Tentatively titled ‘SG253’, the film is expected to start rolling soon. As per the reports, ‘SG253’ is moulded on a massive budget, and actors Saiju Kurup, Harish Kanaran, and, Poonam Bajwa will be seen in some pivotal roles.

Shane Nigam is currently in Dubai, filming for his next titled ‘Aayirathonnam Raavu’, The upcoming film is helmed by Salaam Bappu, and features Shane Nigam and Dubai-based Malayali influencer Jumana Khan in the lead roles. Speaking to Kochi Times, the director shared that ‘Aayirathonnam Raavu’ is a ‘feel-good’ film and added, “Shane’s character hails from Malappuram, and is someone who moves to Dubai for work. But, what he witnesses is not the kind of Dubai which was in his dreams. The place he ends up in has a very different culture and hardly any Malayalis.”

Academy Award winner sound designer Resul Pookutty is stepping into a new ‘direction’, literally. Resul Pookutty is debuting as a filmmaker with the upcoming film ‘Otta’. Actor Asif Ali is playing the lead role in the film. The film will start rolling soon.
