Mammootty turns 71
Megastar Mammootty turned 71 on Wednesday (Sep 7). He celebrated his birthday with family and friends, and social media was flooded with wishes for him. “A big thank you to everyone who has sent me their love and birthday wishes. Each year I feel the love keeps growing and I stand here humbled by all of you. Though I try, it isnt possible to reply to everyone. Kindly see this as a personal wish of thanks to each and every one of you (sic),” Mammootty penned, post his birthday.

Mythili announces pregnancy
Popular Malayalam actress Mythili announced her pregnancy via her Instagram handle on Thursday (Sep 8). She shared a couple of pictures with her husband Sambath and she was seen flaunting her baby bump. “Happy Onam and am sharing with you all a happy news that am premoted to motherhood��❤️���� (sic),” she wrote. Mythili got married to Sambath this April.

‘Pathonpatham Noottandu’ impresses the audience
Vinayan’s directorial ‘Pathonpatham Noottandu’ featuring Siju Wilson in the lead hit the cinemas on the occasion of Onam (Sep 8). The film told the story of Aarattupuzha Velayudha Panicker, a social reformer, and the film managed to pull in the audience in the cinemas. The film is continuing to receive rave reviews and the period drama seems to be a comeback for filmmaker Vinayan.

Suresh Gopi changes his name on social media
Superstar Suresh Gopi has joined the bandwagon of actors who change the spelling of their names for some reason. The ‘Paappan’ actor has changed his name from Suresh Gopi to Suressh Gopi on all his social media handles. Whether the actor has changed the name as per numerology or not is currently unknown, however, it has surely grabbed the attention of netizens.
