'Lucifer': 5 reasons to watch the movie

Prithviraj Sukumaran directorial 'Lucifer' has made titles ever since the movie was announced. The Mohanlal starrer movie had managed to attract the attention of the audience ever since the first look of the movie was out. The teaser created a lot of buzz as the car's number plate, the much serious voice-over of actor Mohanlal and the other elements generated curiosity in the audience. The star cast including Manju Warrier and Vivek Oberoi itself made the audience fascinate about the movie. The movie has an interesting story to communicate as one of its backbones is the political scenario. As the movie is about to hit the screens on 28th, both in India and USA, here are the reasons why you should catch the movie in theatres.

Mohanlal starrer

Actor Mohanlal is undoubtfully one of the finest actor Indian movie industry has ever seen. Even if the M-Town audience has seen a lot of Mohanlal starrer movies, this movie will have the classy Mohanlal back, as claimed by the team. The actor will be seen portraying the titular character Lucifer, who is an anti-hero kind of character. The makers of the movie have clarified that the lead character was named Lucifer, after the mythical Lucifer, a fallen angel. There is a myth that Lucifer was the favourite angel of thy Almighty and God has ejected Lucifer from heaven for his sin. So actor Mohanlal will be portraying such a character.

Prithviraj Sukumaran's debut directorial

Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran is known for his way of selecting movies. The talented actor has always been particular about the movies he commits to and also tries to give space for novelty. The promising actor has won several state awards for his performances in movies. Actress Mallika Sukumaran, who is also his mother has earlier said that Prithviraj was curious from his childhood to know about how films were made. As an actor like him was stepping into film-making, one could expect something novel and good output. Prithviraj has also said that he was waiting for the movie for a quite long time, and made it while he became fully equipped. The movie also has an outstanding script-writer like Murali Gopy penning down the screenplay. Starting from 'Rasikan' Murali Gopy has plotted intriguing storylines, so the expectation of the movie is high.

Star cast

The movie has a huge number of stars in it, of which a few are the faces of Indian cinema. The movie has a handful of A-listers from the M-Town and a few Bollywood actors handling roles in the movie. Filmmaker Fazil is doing a good role in the movie. The movie has the Lady super-star playing one of the leads in the movie. Bollywood actors like Vivek Oberoi, Sachin Khedekar, Suresh Chandra Menon will be seen portraying some important characters in the movie. Actors like Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Saikumar, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Baiju Santhosh, Nyla Usha, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Bala comprise the cast of the movie.

Thrilling trailer

The trailer of the movie was released a few days ago and it reached lakhs of views in a few minutes of the release. The trailer had a brilliant execution of the movie, which created anticipation in the audience. The movie started with the insistent voice-over of Stephen Nedumpallya aka Mohanlal saying, ''Once upon a time, there lived a God,'' which pulled the audience into the world of 'Lucifer.' The intriguing trailer has unveiled just a portion of its suspense and rest is in the depot. The background scores of Deepak Dev have brought the total essence of the movie to the audience. Mohanlal is spotted only in two costumes in the trailer, one in black and another in white, so the audience could expect either two phases of Mohanlal or the two avatars of him. The protagonist is portrayed comparing to, epic characters like Iblis, Mahi Ravana, and Lucifer, who are known to be the good ones among the devils.

Wide-screen experience

The movie will give you a big-screen experience as the movie is shot in the anamorphic format. The breathtaking frames of cinematographer Sujith Vaasudev have brought back the old filmy tone to the movie and also it helped in portraying actor Mohanlal as one has seen in the 90s movies. As the movie has introduced the format, the audience could expect a wider canvas and also a visual treat from the movie.
